Tae stands there in his black suit.
He wears a sad smile. Guests come pouring into the church. Jimin stands right next to him, close by if Tae even needs anything. Each of them say kind words about Mrs. Kim to Tae. Soft spoken words echo through the church, as if they are afraid if they are too loud the peaceful silence might break.
Tae's eyes can no longer cry. He has dripped every last drop of sadness out of his body, almost feeling empty. After a while of just greeting the guests Tae gets reminded of his sadness when Louisa walks into the room. Prim and proper like always. She walks up to the boy with the sad eyes.
"Oh darling."
Louisa says in a motherly voice.
A sad smile formed on Tae's pale face.
"I'm so terribly sad for you. While saying much now won't count because you're probably tired of hearing the same things from different people, but we loved her. Not ever as much as you did. She loves you the most. I still cannot phantom how it must be to have everything— and lose so much of it."
She pulls him in for a hug, to which he takes as a motherly one. She pulls away and puts her hands on both sides of his arms.
She makes direct eye contact that isn't intimidating and says,
"have strength."
Tae nods and she walks in to join the rest of the crowd.
Tae has been holding it together better than the boys thought he would have.
Right up until now.
Tae walked outside and the sun reaches it peak in brightness. He's just standing there.
Jimin follows him outside.
"Hey, it's starting soon, we should get back inside."
"Can I have a minute?"
Tae turns to Jimin.
"Of course."
Jimin stands at a distance. Tae kind of just stares out into a green field of tombstones that will soon have his mothers name in.
He inhales the crisp spring air.
"Ok mom, this is for you."
Tae collects himself and walks back in.
-
The ceremony ends. People have started to leave the graveyard.
Eleven boys stay there and look at the tombstone. Tae is squatting on the ground. Seokjin clears his throat.
"Mom, you didn't finish giving me your recipe for that delicious pot pie."
The rest of the boys smile.
"You also left me with a collection of books. Now who will I ask my questions to when the book gets too good?"
Namjoons eyes get tearful.
"You still have so much left to tell me about the sun, you almost always compared it to me but still! I have so many questions left to ask. Like why did you say I was the center of the universe? It was clearly the su—."
Before he could even finish Hoseok had an epiphany.
"Ohhh!"
Hoseok says as all the boys laugh.
"Thank you for that mom."
Hoseok smiles brightly.
"You never did finish telling me all your good mom jokes, they are honestly way more funnier than Jin's dad jokes."
Jackson says as he looks at Jin
The boys all laugh, the loudest being Jin.
"When we see each other again you have to teach me the ending of Fur Elsie. You should see, I was so so close."
Mark pulls out his hand and puts his index finger centimeters away from his thumb to show a small pinch.
"Oh and I finally got a haircut. I figured it would make you happy."
Shiloh flips his hair to show it off.
"Thanks for allowing me to realize that the path I wanted to take was easier than it seemed."
Tom softly smiled.
"Oh and thanks for teaching me confidence, thanks to you I pull both guys and girls now."
Jungkook devilishly grins.
"Yah!"
Jin slaps his arm but Jungkook just smiles.
"Thank you for taking me in and raising me into the man I am today. I wouldn't be half the man I am today if it wasn't for you."
Yoongi pulls out his little pin of sobriety.
Marking his 10 years of being sober.
He places it on top and steps back.
Jimin wraps his arms around Tae.
"Thank you for making Tae into the person he is now. You did a perfect job, I'm a big fan of your work. And not only the one you made but to everyone who's ever viewed you as a mother, a sister, a daughter. We are all so proud to have had you in our lives, till the next one."
Jimin kisses Tae's head and holds him tightly.
The boys smile.
There's a moment of silence.
"Goodbye mom. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for us here and up there."
Tae stands up and they all hug him again.
"Guys, really I'm ok."
Tae smiles.
"This is for us. We need a hug."
Namjoon says.
Tae chuckles.
"It's ok guys, let it out. I got you."
Jimin softly cry's wondering how his boyfriend always manages to be everyone's rock while he's breaking down. Tae is truly magical.
After the boys finish having their moment they all get in their cars and go home.
-
"I love you."
Jimin looks at Tae who's just sitting on the couch with his eyes closed.
"I love you too."
Tae opens his eyes for a quick second then closes them again.
"I love you."
Jimin says it again.
"I love you."
"I love you."
"I love you."
"Jimin, I heard you the first time."
"I know, but I want to make sure you hear it from me every day."
Tae grabs his boyfriends hand.
"This is wonderful, thank you."
Jimin smiles, satisfied to see his boyfriend happy. He was going to get up when he hears Tae say,
"where are you going?"
"Oh, I thought you wanted to rest."
Jimin looks at him, confused.
Tae quickly pulls him in.
"Don't."
"Ok, ok."
Tae holds him.
Jimin feels uncomfortable because he doesn't know what to say. Is Tae still sad? Well of course he's ok. But does he feel like he has support? Does he realize that the boys are always there for him? What if he's still upset?
Jimins eyes stay wide open, his mind not allowing him to rest.
"Thank you."
Tae softly murmurs.
"Hm?"
Jimin looks up at Tae.
"Thank you for being here, you and the boys. I wouldn't know were I would be if it weren't for you guys. I think I can get through this. So, please be patient with me. Ok?"
Tae looks at Jimin.
"Of course."
Jimin puts out his pinky.
"Promise."
Tae smiles.
He lifts up his hand and sticks out his pinky. Tae intertwines his pinky with Jimin and pulls him in for a kiss. The boys smile at each other. Tae looks at his pretty little blonde boy. And realizes, maybe he can pull through this.
Maybe..
