Tae found out that Yoongi, Hoseok, and Jimin all knew about his mother's illness yet no one said anything. By Tae's stubbornness, he went back to Korea. Visiting his mom makes him feel a bit less upset. And he now promises to always be there for his mom.
-
Tae walks into the pharmacy to check up on his mothers pills. He pays for them and leaves. Once inside the house he goes into his moms room who's laying in bed.
"Tae, really you can't keep baby sitting me like this. Once you leave I'll be so use to you doing everything for me! This isn't good."
She tried to get up and Tae just blocks her path.
"Mom, I'm just doing this for a few days. Then you could go back and do what you always do. This isn't going to cause you to be dependent."
Tae places the pills next to the glass of water and takes the tray from breakfast away to go wash.
He comes back and sits next to his mother.
"How's work going?"
She questions.
"Great. I finished up a shoot with Gucci and I started a new painting a week ago."
She smiles and nods.
"How's Yoongi."
"Well, he's doing alright. He's been spending a while in his room making music. But Hoseok doesn't allow him to stay in for too long."
Tae chuckles.
He misses his friends. They have been talking a while but Tae ignores them out of pettiness. He knows what he is doing is wrong but he is still upset. The boys are understanding and have been trying to give Tae time.
"In a way I thought that you and Yoongi would end up together."
She chuckles.
"Why do you say that?"
Tae looks concerned and she laughs.
They stare at each other.
"Wait, are you seriously telling me you never knew Yoongi had a crush on you?"
Tae's eyes widen.
"Huh? What? No!"
Tae becomes flustered.
"Yoongi and I have always been good friends."
"Friends don't look at each other the way that Yoongi looked at you."
Tae turns pink.
"Well, that's all in the past. Yoongi is in love with Hoseok and I'm happy for them."
She smiles.
"Me too. Yoongi deserved love."
She picks up her book.
Tae brushes off the conversation.
Tae checks his phone.
Gucci sent him the photo they are going to post.
"Oh, I forgot to ask."
She closes the book and looks at Tae.
"How is Jimin?"
"Uh.. I don't know. I haven't talked to him since I found out about your illness."
Tae starts to look down.
"Oh.."
She bites her lip. Almost as if she didn't mean to ask.
"Mom.."
Tae says in a soft voice.
"Hm?"
She hums.
"Do you think it's bad that I still love Jimin? I know that what he did was unforgivable but I just can't hate him. I can't mom and I hate I don't hate him, not even a little bit."
Tae's eyes start to water.
"It's not his fault."
Tae pulls his head up.
"But he knew.. and yet he-."
Before he could even finish he was cut off.
"I told him not to tell you. I forced it onto him to keep it a secret. I was scared Tae. And he feared losing you. He couldn't stand that you didn't know. And he knew he could lose you if he said anything. Yet he did. Because he loves you. He put your feelings over his. He knew he was gonna get hurt."
She pauses.
"He still loves you Taehyung. He's such a wonderful boy. And I don't hate him for telling you. I actually want to thank him, for he has courage. The kind of courage I wish I had."
She grabs Tae's hand and pulls him close.
"But mom.."
Tae starts to cry.
"He.. he should have told me sooner."
She wipes his tears.
"He told you. He told you because he loved you."
She smiles.
They stay silent for a minute.
"Tae."
Tae sniffs and looks up.
"Go to him."
"Huh?"
Tae finishes wiping off his face.
"You heard me. Go. Get on a plane. Tell him you miss him. Hold onto him and don't let go. Not even for a second!"
She shoos him out the room.
"But mom! I don't even have a ticket! And I'm not packed! And how do I even know that he wants to see me."
"Tae!"
She grabs both his arms.
"Stop over thinking. Listen to your mother. If you don't go right now I'll never forgive you."
"Mom!"
Tae tries to retaliate.
"No, go."
Tae looks at his mom, and smiles.
He gives her a big hug.
"Thank you."
Tae whispers.
He grabs his phone and runs out the door. He flags down a taxi and tells them to take them to the airport.
-
Tae gets on a flight that he booked last minute. He gets on the plane and hopes things would go by faster. He makes it to Chicago in what felt like eternity. Tae is running on four hours of sleep, but the only thing in his mind is Jimin.
He gets into a taxi and tells the driver Jimin's street.
He gets there in 10 minutes flat. He pays and bolts to the door, smashing the doorbell.
The door opens and Tae's heart is beating out of his chest.
He looks at the boy at the door.
"Tae?"
Tae catches his breath.
"Where's Jimin."
"Uhh.. he's not here. He said he was gonna take a walk to the park."
The boy turns to look back and the room.
"If you wanna stay here until he comes ba—."
The boy turns to look at Tae just to see he's not there.
"Tae?"
He looks down the hall to see Tae sprinting out the door.
Tae can't feel his legs but he's passion to see Jimin doesn't allow his body to give up.
Tae feels weak as he stumbles into the entrance of the park.
He looks around for any sign of Jimin while he tries to catch his breath. The nice cool breeze brushes against Tae's sweaty forehead.
Tae sees a boy with blonde hair near the top of the hill.
Tae inhales and dashes towards the top of the hill.
-
Tae stumbles as he reaches closer to the top, as if he can almost feel Jimin's small body on his.
He is at the top. He collapses to his knees. Breathing so hard.
Tae looks up to see his little blonde boy.
There he is.
Jimin is standing by the cherry tree watching the peddles fall. A bittersweet smile is painted on Jimin's face. Tears are slowly pouring from his eyes. Tae can't believe he's seeing Jimin. After all this time, there he is.
Tae tries to collect his breath.
"JIMIN!"
