After making my way toward the dance floor a handsome stranger grasped my hand. stopping abruptly and turning only for him to bow, kissing my gloved hand. " Would the beautiful enchantress care to dance?" the deep voice bid me. Smiling back i returned a curtsy, he clasped my hand and placed his other on my low back pulling me close.
My wolf and i were on high alert at all the many different scents floating around. Sometimes the mating bond needs eye contact and touch to be initiated. " so who do i have the pleasure of dancing with?" i tried to keep my voice low and sensual as i leaned in close to his ear, subtly breathing in his scent.
'HE HAS NO SCENT' came Sadie curt reply before i could respond " My name is not as important as my role in this world is." 'GREAT A POWER HUNGRY JERK ALREADY'
" Well what is your role then Mr. dark an evasive". his new nickname came from his short midnight black hair and chocolate brown eyes, not to tall only about 6 feet. snark laughter from him had me tuning back into his face rather than examining his slender body,'THINKING WE COULD BREAK HIM, THANK YOU NEXT' Sadie its hard to concentrate and be serious pipe down before i loose my shit and laugh him off the floor.
A low growl from her as a response, " So the rumors are true" his voice had me curious now "ah and what rumors would those be" " you've the beauty of a goddess and the quickness of a fox" a small laugh excepted my lips which had me clearing my throat to recover, all the while dodging looks from others on the dance floor.
" Yes well im a wolf so the fox does cause somewhat of a disagreement but i will overlook and accept the compliment" " i apologize if i offended you, i only meant you are witty princess" before i could answer a tap to his shoulder was given and he let me go and brushed his fingers across my palm " thank you for the pleasure my lady, i look forward to another soon". with that i was passed to another male as he disappeared from view. 'WELL THAT WAS STRANGE'
After another hour of dancing my feet and arms were getting tired, not to mention id lost track of the males i had danced with and names and scents. Sadie had checked out seamlessly after the first 5 she could care less that any of these males wanted our attention.
After finally excusing myself from the dance floor i was starving and made my way over to the buffet to recharge. scooping a large amount of shrimp pasta on my plate and garlic bread i made my way to an empty table. sitting down to eat didn't last long when Millie had made her way over with a similar helping.
Her fire red dress swaying as she walked" damn my feet are almost raw, wont be long and these old farts can go to bed and we can really party" she said in a low whisper and wink. " Agreed" smiling and nodding we dug in.
" figures id find y'all here" i looked up to see a black tuxedo with slicked blonde hair and those brown eyes i knew right away, as he slid up a chair next to mine and draped an arm over my chair. " shuff up" i muffled though a mouthful of food. " oh thats proper" scoffing and laughing Max moved in with a napkin to wipe at my chin. Looking into his earth brown eyes, a sparkle was there i had never noticed before. It seemed he held his hand on my cheek longer than needed, "um guys" Millie speaking had me pulling away from the stare abruptly.
" i was asking Sarah if she found any potential mates here yet" "i mean you've danced with at least 15 by now" laughing and surveying the room she pulled her gaze back to mine. swallowing my food " Well actually" at this i noticed Max lean into my side, he still had his arm over my chair. " i honestly don't know the blonde with ocean blue eyes has peaked my interest but there also the green eyed forest over yonder" pointing in the direction on a stocky 6 foot 4 guy with broad shoulders and dark brown hair in the corner.
" well i think they all are a bunch of arrogant play boys who dont know their head from their ass." snorting Millie glared at her brother, you couldn't see it to much since the mask hid most of it but i knew the twins well. Before there quarreling could begin thankfully my name was called" Sarah honey can you come up here please" my moms voice rang out as the music dimmed down from a small makeshift stage.
Making my way up to the stage with Max and Millie on my heels i carefully stepped on stage wholly relying on Sadie to use some wolf power and keep me from falling. Making my way to center stage where she and my father stood, she reached out for my hand placing it in hers. My fathers voice "Thank you everyone for your attendance tonight, We value all of your support in efforts to find a suitable mate for our eldest daughter in hopes of bringing our kingdoms closer and helping to keep peace.
" Feeling eyes on me as my father kept addressing the crowd with thanks i scanned the room looking at every face trying to memorize them. Hoping my parents didn't want me to speak next. " Wolves we come together as often as possible in hopes of staying sane, we are social animals after all" Small smiles and murmurs met my mothers words as she continued " My daughter is our eldest as you know, and will be our first to be mated, i hope you have all had a chance to woo her" a few laughs and whistles rang out " if you haven't had the pleasure yet,then you don't know what your missing. Our little trouble maker is a prize to be won for sure." I gave my mom a raised eyebrow, but kept silent.
There's that winning me comment again. what the heck is going on i thought to myself. " eat, drink and enjoy the rest of your evening, we will cut her cake now and then the wiser of us will be turning in" we my be young still but i for one can't hang with the pups" laughter and applause met my mothers last words and my father pulled her close and smiled warmly. " now who wants cake"?
After cutting my cake and everyone having a slice, the older more formal wolves did indeed leave us to ourselves.
"Finally" most wolves shouted at the same time as dirty rap music started to play, shoes became non existent for most while males lost there ties and coats then she wolves dresses began being hiked up. "you kids behave im going find me some fresh meat" winking and disappearing into the throng of heated body's Millie was gone. I looked around the room and noticed multiple eyes dance my way some got up and headed my direction others just stared.
Turning to look at Max his heated gaze on me had me wanting to dance with him, " excuse me princess?" turning to my left my eyes met the forest green ones i had enjoyed a dance with earlier. His hand laced through mine and i was pulled out of my seat and towards the floor without a second thought.
Act up by City Girls came on, Millie appeared to my side and bumped me into him." Im sorry," i apologized ", almost knocking him over he replied as he held me close with his hands on my waist" Not a problem, anything to get you closer is welcomed in my book" a snort left my mouth as i spun around.
My back pressed firmly against him i couldn't help but start to move with the music, swirling my hips against him, his hands had wandered from my waist to the front of my thigh and the other on my hip. i could feel his growing erection pressing into my ass as well. lying my head back onto his shoulder i couldn't help but feel caught up in the sensations of his hands and his body heat radiating into me.
When a cold sensation started wandering my body i opened my eyes and ocean blue met my gaze, ' I WASN'T LYING ABOUT THE LEGS GETTING HUMPED,'when the heck he show up?' 'I DON'T REMEMBER BUT PLEASE DON'T STOP' Sadie growled approval, i leaned into him keeping my ass pressed to green eyes when blue eyes lips landed on mine , before i could finish my exploring of his, i was ruffly yanked to the side in into a hard chest.
Realizing the scent to be Bruce i growled along with the two wolves i was dancing with. the music had stopped and we were now center of attention. "whats your problem warrior?" snapped Blue eyes then green eyes stepped forward. Pushing me behind him Bruce stepped forward as well meeting their continued challenge.
'SHIT SARAH YOU GOT TO STOP THIS, ITS ABOUT TO GET BAD' Sadie's thoughts had me getting in front of Bruce with my hand out to stop him, " Bruce we were just dancing calm down, they were not hurting me" Green eyes stepped forward growling "Listen to your princess guard, we wouldn't want to end this party so early, mopping the floor with you."
Before i could say anything further i was shoved with so much force that i slammed into the wall and slid down, after that the world was fuzzy and even Sadie was fading out. Trying to focus my eyes caught the mysterious dark stranger from my first dance.
Someone screams and there was a lot of shuffling and growling, trying to stay focused was pointless as the darkness overcame me.
