Chapter-37 The Morning After

His POV~~

The sun had just started to rise into the treeline warming the air surrounding us. We had stayed in wolf form throughout the trip, Between the extreme cold and windstorms we had all agreed it was safer. The problem with wolf form, your senses are heightened to an supernatural level. 

For others who where already mated and marked, it didn't make a difference however for me it was torture. I was having a hard time fighting against Kaine throughout our mission knowing we sent our mate away. Between his constant sharp turns and insistent yapping i thought i was going to loose my mind. 

Kaine was constantly whining for us to go find her and tell her who we were. He was annoying the hell out of me, its like he couldn't understand that we had to wait this out. If anyone knew i had a mate it could put her life in danger. No, i had waited too long to have her. I would not put her into this mess, i knew she didn't understand and i had a hell of a lot to explain. I just hoped she would forgive me and give me a chance to make this right. 

The second time i saw i her i was at a loss for breath much less words, it was like a swift kick to my kidneys that i couldn't recover from. She was like a freshly snowed morning on Christmas. Her white fur paired with emerald green eyes that shined like the rarest most expensive gem she was a hidden treasure. 

This she wolf was a gift from the moon goddess carved in the image of herself. She was beautiful and fierce, her growl at me staring at her, sent pleasant shivers down my spine. Kaine sighed dreamily in my head and i could picture him panting in lust at her. When her scent met my nose it wrapped around me like a thick wool blanket. 

I was lost in her, captivated by her and dare i say obsessed. She was everything i imagined a mate would be, perfect. It took everything in me to restrain myself and him from mating and claiming her right there. 

I swear i think the moon is enjoying seeing me torture myself with this mess. I admit i was learning great self control and how to function on little to no sleep. I needed a break, a long break with her in my arms. Kaine sent images of her beneath us and i growled low warning him to cool it. 

Kaine took over at one point in my moment of weakness and licked her cheek before i could stop him.  She wiped it away which only made me chuckle at her. I knew she was pissed at me, i couldn't let anyone find out who she was to me. I summoned for Kitanie to get her along with my warriors to flank the Ice Wolves Princess.

That would be what i would call her, knowing damn well she was so much more than that.She was, no she is my treasure, my heart and soul woven to one my Ice Queen. I just couldn't show it, not yet, we were so close to closing this case. 

I wanted her, the moon knows i wanted her so bad. I reassured Kaine again that we had to keep her safe, when she shifted to her human form and the others got a look at her i thought i was going to have to tear there heads off.  She was even more perfect in her human form. Her skin a slight golden tint just enough i could call it sun-kissed. Her long blonde hair was wet from the lagoon and barely covered her perfectly rounded breasts. 

We started to growl in approval until i realized she did this in front of my warriors, i roared at them threateningly to turn their heads. I think some may have an idea now that she belonged to me after that, however none dared to question me. It was best for their hides that they wouldn't ask. They all knew i had a temper, especially here lately, running off no sleep will do that to you. 

When Kitanie came in to cover her my wolf howled in my head, he pushed to come forward and coat her in our scent. I pushed him as far back as i could to keep control, i knew if i was weak for even a second more that her life would be in danger more than it already was being in my realm as of recent events.
