The cold had given me a boost of self confidence. I loved the cold, the snow, ice and wind lapping at my fur as Sadie and i rested. I opened my eyes to look out at the night sky, it was time to get moving.

I had no way of knowing how long or far we had traveled i only hoped it was far enough away from the hunters grounds. I took long slow breaths as we waded in the snow up to our chests. The further through the mountains we went the easier it should be to stay out of sight.

I hoped, we hoped.

We where wrong.

The burnt ash and copper smell was unmistakable as it surrounded me. Sadie flicked her ears as we stopped to survey how close they were now.

"Hey wolf princess stop." A deep scratchy voice yelled at me

I turned to see a middle aged man, rough but showed raw hatred in his brown eyes as his rifle was pointed at me. Three others appeared at his left with guns pointed my way, all wearing bullet proof vests along with two silver daggers around their wastes. We where outnumbered and i had no way of knowing if there was more or what was in the bullets.

'Sadie do you trust me?'

'UM DO I HAVE A CHOICE'

'Not really if you want to live, give me control and shift to skin' She hesitantly allowed it.

I shifted to skin and stood before the hunters in with my bare body on display. The cold air nipped at my flesh and had my nipples so hard i was sure i could cut glass. It worked to my advantage as the stupid males fell for my trick.

"Well, well, guess we could have some fun before we head back, eh boys?" He laughed.

I sauntered over to the unsuspecting first hunter and he lowered his weapon allowing me to wrap my arms around his neck. i had to stand on my tiptoes to reach his ear as i whispered lowly "Wrong move big boy". He had no time to react nor his buddies as i twisted his neck pulling his daggers throwing at the other two.

Perfect form as they stuck into their jugular veins, they would be choking on the blood til their lungs filled up or they bled out. Spinning  into the other i slammed my elbow into his chest as he fell over i ripped his head from his shoulders.

We didn't wait around to watch the others die, I shifted to Sadie and peeled out through the snow. I felt the sting of a dart into my hind leg then another which i only pushed harder from. I jumped a fallen tree and felt another in my neck. We howled in pain, a long loud yelp as we hit the ground.

As we tried to stand i heard it, a faint howl. Was i hearing things?

The silver net slug over me again and we yelped in pain. Another howl, it was far away but i knew it was one. I Howled as loud and long as i could hoping the others would hear me, we needed help. I was answered by a chorus of more than three other howls, i knew it.

I was going to be saved. Sadie yipped in my head as we started to see black filling our vision. Sadie took over as we pulled as hard as we could against the silver, burning into our flesh we howled again as strong as we could muster up.

The return howl had pleasant shivers run down our spine, Sadie purred in our mind. It was him, it was our mate, our beautiful mercury wolf. He was coming, and we couldn't be more thankful to the moon. My eyes drooped closed and we feel unconscious being pulled with the netting around us.

The feeling of a hard cot under our body, I groaned as the heaviness of our eyes set in. I blinked several times as my eyes tried to adjust to the darkness. There was a door ahead of us surrounded by a yellow light, the desk next to it had a small lamp but was bare. The door to the right was made of metal unlike the walls of wood.
