Logan's POV-
"God I'm tiiirrrrred." I groan as I fall onto the guest bed in the guest room in Emily's apartment.
"Well, what did you expect? Driving for 10 hours straight, it makes sense." she tells me as she leans against the doorframe. I sigh and force myself to sit up.
There's a handful of boxes in this guest room. I'm honestly a little surprised that she hasn't been complaining to me about them yet. I probably would complain if I had someone's boxes filled with their personal belongings in a room for a long time. But Emily's chill. For the most part.
"Yeah yeah, I know. But still..." I trail off as I fall back and stretch my arms over my head. She only laughs.
"So how long are you staying exactly?" she asks me.
"Just for tomorrow. I'm going back Sunday morning."
"Driving?"
"Yup."
"Jesus. I don't know how you can do it. I'd get so annoyed with driving for that long." she comments as she leaves the room.
All of my stuff are packed already, here that is. Tomorrow, I'll have to go to the university and talk to them about me leaving. I already called in ahead of time to let them know that I want to talk to them about it and such. So now it's just actually finalizing it. Once that's all taken care of, I'll be well on my way back to Michigan. I know I told Kimberly that I'll be back Sunday, but depending on how long this will actually take, I'll probably have to stay here in New York for a day longer or so.
But I'm hoping she'll understand.
And I'm sure as hell will be calling her and texting her periodically while I'm here. I'm not making the same mistake of not contacting her at all again. Doing that the first time around didn't go great at all. I'd be even more dumb and stupid to try doing it again.
I sigh as I eventually get off of the bed and head into the living room to find Emily sitting at the table with papers all sprawled out. With so much curiosity running through me, I look over her shoulder and look down at what it is.
Stuff for her studies. That makes sense if you ask me. She's serious about being a successful lawyer and wants to see about running her own firm.
How she manages to stay on track with all of that, it's amazing.
Since she's so into her work right now, I decide to not bother her and turn on the tv and connect the wireless headphones to the tv.
A tap on my shoulder brings me out of catching some news. I look over and see Emily walking over and flops herself down right next to me on the couch. I take off the headphones and divide my attention to her and the tv before me.
"How are you doing?" is the first thing she asks me. In confusion, I look towards her and give her my confused look.
"I'm doing fine, why wouldn't I be?" I ask her. She shrugs her shoulders.
"Because. Kimberly's pregnant and you're getting ready to drop everything in New York for her, doesn't that bother you a little?" Emily asks me with such a serious tone in her voice.
"I'm not dropping out though. I'm just taking a break. I'm resuming my studies next fall." I tell her. She shakes her head.
"But still. Aren't you worried a little bit?" she asks me, sounding really concerned.
I sigh and shake my head as I run my hands down my face. I don't know why she's even bringing this up. I'm not worried at all. Just because I'm taking a break for a little bit, doesn't mean I'll never pick up on my studies again. I will, just in Michigan. That way, I'll be able to still be with Kim and the baby AND graduate from some college.
