25. Falling Into Place

Logan's POV-

I just sit there, suddenly really nervous and scared.

He just stands there. At the doorway of the living room, looking at me, waiting for me to follow him.

All of a sudden, a smile slips onto his face and he laughs. It catches me by surprise at the sudden burst of laughter. Actually, it catches all of us by surprise.

"Oh you should have seen the look on your face just now," he says once he calms down and walks on back over towards the couch and sits back down..

Great.

Now I'm confused.

Is this the same man that scared the shit out of me when he all of a sudden wanted to talk? Could have fooled me.

"I'm sorry, what?" I ask him. With a smile still on his face, he shakes his head. He then looks back up at me.

"I was just kidding. Lighten up, kid. But, in all seriousness now...yes. I'll give you my blessing. But know this, if you hurt my Kimmie Cup, you better watch your back. Same goes for if you hurt Chloe. Understand?" he asks me, more seriously now. I immediately nod my head.

"Yes. Of course. I would never deliberately hurt them." I tell him. He nods and leans back in the couch.

"Good. On that note, when's the wedding?" he asks towards both of us.

Whelp.

There it is.

The one question we can't answer just yet. We don't have a date, we haven't even started planning things out. I only just proposed to her the day before yesterday. And then yesterday, we both agreed that there's no rush.

At least, that was my understanding on the conversation we had when we got home.

"Um...most likely after I'm done with school. Probably even until I get settled with the job I want and all that." I respond hesitantly.

"That's so far away. You sure you don't want to do it sooner?" Susan suggests. I shake my head and look over towards Kim. She does the same and I can't help but smile.

"Honestly, I just want everything to be perfect when I can finally take her hand in marriage. Why rush it? It's not like I'm going to lose interest or anything. I love her," I tell her.

"Alright, well. Whatever floats your boat. But. I wouldn't wait too long. It takes a bit to plan a wedding." Susan tells us. I nod as I look back towards her.

"Yes, I know. I'm well aware. That's why I don't want to rush it because I just want everything to be perfect." I explain again. She nods.

"Well ok then. Oh and Kim, when you do go out dress shopping, it goes without saying that I'm going to be there." Susan says to Kim. She laughs but nods.

"I'm aware."

"Oh, I'm excited now. It's about TIME you got hitched. You're not getting any younger, you know." Susan tells her. I can't help but laugh. Kim wacks me.

"Geez, I'm not even 30 yet. I'm still well in my youth." Kim defends herself.

"Ok, you got everything?" I ask Logan as I buckle Chloe up in her car seat.

"Yup."

"Diapers?"

"Check."

"Bottles?"

"Check."

"Binky?"
