"Promise me you would call me once you reach," I stared at her with my stern voice.
"Yes mom," she wailed.
Joey was going back to visit her old hometown for a couple of days or even a week. It came as a shock to me as I thought we could spend our one-month together. She promised me that she would re-create the best one month on a different day. I didn't had a clue on why she was so eager to fly back as she never told me the reason why. Instead of pestering her about it, I kept my silence.
Once the announcer had announced that they were boarding passengers into the plane, both of us stood up without having the heart to let our hands untwine. I gave her a final hug and she whispered into my ear how I've nothing to be worried about. She then walked away and boarded the plane.

It's been days now and I haven't heard anything from Joey. No calls, no messages. I waited until sunrise but I did not receive anything. When I went back home from the airport the other day, I was given a purplish black bruise on my arm by my sister. I don't understand how she can do that every time she's not in a good mood.
I've been sending text messages on every online platform that Joey was on but she hasn't reply on either of them.
I was resting on my bed with my laptop sitting beside me. I turn on my Skype online just incase she was trying to reach me. I've visited Tyler's place a few times for dinner, as no one really cooks here.
While I was resting on my bed, the infamous ringtone from Skype rang through my laptop. In an instant, my body reacted as fast as it could accepting the call.
"Hey, I'm sorry. I know I promise to ring you as soon as I reached, but I was busy trying to settle in and there were a few problems with the place that I was staying at and it took the whole day to figure it out. The day after that I got busy with other stuff," Guilt washed over her face while she was explaining herself.
"It's okay, I guess I could understand. So where are you staying right now?" I ask instead of ranting to her about how I stayed up for two days, staring at my laptop continuously.
"I'm staying at a friend's house," she said with a reassuring smile. Before I could pop another question, a girl from the back came into the view wearing a sports bra with black shorts. She laid her hands and embraced Joey lovingly from behind while pecking simultaneously on her cheek.
I was disgusted at the sight of my very own eyes. Is this it? Was she too busy with another girl that she had forgotten to send a text just to inform me that she was ok? After all, I've done, after all those times, is this it?
Once she notices the awkwardness that rose between us she pushed the girl away and look at me uneasily. The girl then teased Joey with another kiss before realising that I had witnessed everything that happened.
"Oops," the girl from the back said with a cheeky smile.
"It's not what it looks like," she stammered. Before I could hear her out, tears were already making its way down my cheeks. I slammed my laptop shut and threw it across my room.
