Chapter 17:

"Goodmorning Ashton, how are you feeling?"

Pain, pain, pain, pain, everywhere.

"Your gonna be like that for the next few days."

I'll get used to it, don't worry.
"Oh by the way, your getting a roommate. She's in the need of a kidney transplant, her names Alexandria, she's 15."

I wanna help her, can I?

"I'm sorry Ashton but you just had appendix surgery, your body can't handle a transplant right now, I'm so sorry."

I'll help her.

"Luke are you sure your mother will let you go through with this if you can."

I'm old enough, I'm brave enough. I'm healthy enough. I wanna do it. I wanna save her life. She's too young and beautiful to die.

'Luke, I can't let you. Too many things have happened. What will everyone do if something goes wrong?'

I'm sorry ashton. Since you can't, I'll do it. It's the least I can do.

"Luke call your mum and tell her. Also tell her to come down here."
(Luke on the phone with Liz)
"Mum, I have to tell you something."
What is it Luke?
"I'm donating one of my kidneys to this sick girl. She needs it really bad, I wanna do it."
That's so sweet of you Luke. I gotta go and prepped for surgery. Please come down here. I wanna see you before the operation.
"Don't worry I'll be there in a little while. Can't wait to see you with your cute little hospital gown on."
(10 mins later)
(Liz walks up to desk)
"Hi, I'm Liz Hemmings, Luke Hemmings mother, I'm here to see him."

He's in the operating room, getting prepped, it's down the hallway last door on the right.

"Thank you so much."

(Liz walks to room and opens door)
"LUKE, IM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU."
MUM IM SO HAPPY YOUR HERE.
"So have you met the girl yet?"
No, they said I can't see her until after, all I know is her name is Alexandria. All she knows is that my name is Luke.
"I'm so proud of you! How is Ashton doing?"
He's doing better, actually. He gave me the biggest hug before I came down here since he's not allowed to walk.
(Mikey & Cal walk over)
Good luck, Luke, you have such a good heart.
"Thanks Michael. I love you"

"Thank you Calum. Wait can you hand deliver a note to ashton?"
It's not a problem, write it down and I'll give it to him.
(Nurse walks over)
We're ready for you Luke. Thanks for going on to this.
(Liz kisses Luke's cheek)
I love you so much Luke. Can't wait to see you after surgery.
"I love you too. I'll see you later."
(Nurse walks to Liz)
I'm sorry but you'll have to go and sit in the lobby. I'll keep you posted during the procedure.
(Calum goes and brings the note to Ashton)
Ashton, luke just went into surgery. He wanted me to give this to you. It's a note.
(Ashton opens it)
Dear Ashton,
I know your upset about not being able to help Alexandria. Don't be. I care so much about you. I was so worried when you had your emergency surgery. I never been so nervous for you in my entire life. You weren't told this, because, no one wanted to upset you, when they were taking your appendix out you began to loose some blood. I found out I was the same blood type as you. I donated blood for your operation. They told me I saved your life. Your probably crying right now. Smile for me, I'll be fine. Tweet the fans about me for me. I love you so much. The two things that would make me happy is that you donate blood for me, and pray for me as well. Love you man, thank you.
