Recap...

And then I told them about Aiden. About how he scared me; about how he had threatened me and told me to leave, or he’d have to make me. I told them how I thought it was about Aaron, and about how the feeling of dread that had come to me when I had first met him, was now dissipating.

I ended by telling them about how I was going to meet him in the library tonight.

Chapter 10: A transition, of sorts.

I looked into the full size mirror, my mouth barely hanging at the jaw.

No effing way.

No way!

I was never never never never ever ever ever walking out of my room dressed like that! Ever!

‘You guys are joking!’ I stressed. They knew I never wore anything like this, so why make me now?

Oh yeah, because they thought that the meeting with Aaron in the library was a ‘date’. Yes; a ‘date’. Crazy American girls...

‘You are so wearing that!’ Aisling squealed, clapping her hands like an excited five year old.

I shook my head at her. ‘No! No! I can’t wear this...its..its....PINK!’ I bellowed. How did they ever expect me to wear pink!? Never ever ever in a trillion million years would I wear pink! It was just...ugh! It was pink! P-I-N-K! The colour was gay! Gay I tell you!

‘Aw, come on, you look adorable in it’, Jessica pleaded.

Oh no... no one called me the ‘c’ word. Never!

‘I’m changing back into my leggings! Where did you put my comfy leggings!’ I crawled on the carpeted floor hunting for the black leggings I had on earlier.

‘No!’ Aisling grabbed my arms. ‘You are not putting those wretched things on! This is pretty! That is goth! You need to change your style!’

‘Well not today sister!’ I climbed in under the pile of clothes, wondering where the hell they were.

‘No! You’re ruining your dress!’ Jessica pulled my legs back just as I had spotted the familiar black leggings.

Shudder. Dress...

‘No!!!’ I screamed as I was being pulled back, my outstretched hand getting further and further away from them. ‘My precious!!’

‘Ah, get a new precious’, Aisling huffed, helping her twin pull me back.

I sighed and lay my head on the ground. ‘Wheee! This is fun! My dress is getting all crumpled!’ Haha, that ought to stop them.

Yay, I was right! The pull on my legs disappeared immediately.

‘No!’ the both shouted, pulling me up to my feet.

‘Ugh! It’s all crumpled now!’ Jessica whined.

‘You’ll have to change it...’ came the grumble form Aisling.

My response? ‘Mwahaha!!!’

They looked at me through narrowed eyes, giving me back my old clothes; black leggings (yay!) a long blue and grey chequered button down shirt which I generally left open, and a black vest top underneath.

I gave them a huge grin before going into the bathroom. I made a face as I saw my reflection in the mirror. What I saw wasn’t me; it was a girl who looked like me, wearing a light pink dress that went down to my knees. It had two thick straps and was made of a light polyester-cotton fabric. There was a belt of darker fabric at my natural waist that tied at the back like a bow. The skirt slightly ruffled out then, and the darker colour made another belt at the hem.
