[Before you claim that I am making this character overly dramatic, please remember that despite her tough exterior, she is quite vulnerable and fragile from the inside. .........Nothing else.....vote please?! thanks <3<33<333 oh, and you can thank ShaSha for practically daring me to write this chapter in a day and to blazing_dreams4 for telling me she wanted more! I thank ya!!! xo0ox (but for these reasons, there may also be a LOT of typos...point them out? :O]
Recap...
‘What are you smiling?’ Aaron asked me then, dragging me out of my thoughts.
‘Oh-oh nothing...’ I muttered, looking down, unaware that I had been smiling.
Aaron scrutinised my face for a while, and I looked straight back, thinking that maybe, just maybe, some of the hardness in his eyes was fading...
Chapter 11
After few minutes of silence, the atmosphere around us started to change. I didn’t know how to describe it; it was more sinister, somehow. The almost old feeling of dread began building up in me again as I gulped. Aaron eyes started to grow darker and I started getting lost in them.
I wanted to run then, but I couldn’t bring myself to. Instead I felt a...pull?
Before anything else could happen, Aaron stood up, the plastic chair making a sound of protest as it scraped against the wooden flooring.
He muttered something then, but it was too low for me to hear. But somehow I thought I heard the word, ‘right’. Was he saying that something wasn’t right? But what couldn’t be right?
And then he left; leaving me alone in the quiet hall, eyebrows creased and mouth slightly ajar. What was going on? One minute he acted completely normal, and the next he just left? This made no sense! What was going on? There was obviously something wrong; something that he wouldn’t tell me for some reason.
As for what that something was, that was left to be questioned.
After a few minutes, I realised that he wasn’t coming back; why would he? But...why would he leave in the first place? Sighing, I cleaned up the mess on the table, before leaving the library rather briskly, my state almost half dazed.
When I got back up to my room, the twins were in there blasting some songs from their iPod dock. I would have given out to them for being not being in their own one otherwise, but since the previous mess had disappeared, I decided to let them off. Hiding any signs of shock off my face, I plopped down on my bed.
‘Tired’, I yawned.
The twins ran up to me and began jumping up and down reminding me of little puppies.
‘How was it!?’ they asked together.
I moaned. ‘Tired!!!’ I yawned even louder this time.
‘No! You can’t be tired!’ Jessica pulled my arm.
‘Give us details’, Aisling ordered, prodding my shoulder.
Suddenly, I felt fed up. I just wanted to sleep and think this over, or lie down in the least; not be interrogated by the twins. ‘You know what?’ I asked. ‘He ditched me. We were talking and it was fine, then suddenly he just gets up and ditches me without saying a word! So you wanna know how it went!? It went shit!’
With that, I put the pillow over my head, my heart dropping. I was also annoyed; but not at Aaron. I was annoyed at myself. Why did I care so much!? People left me all the time, why should this time be any different?
