Colin's POV

When I got home from the airport, Michael was sitting on my couch like he lived there.

"What are you doin' in my house?" I asked, putting my keys on the table.

"Oh please. I know where you hide the extra key," he said, "where were you?"

"I had to take Jalissa to the airport."

"Why didn't Gi take her?"

"They got into a fight."

"Jalissa doesn't strike me as the argumentative type," he said, "so what'd y'all do last night?"

He sure is nosey.

"We just came here and hung out," I lied.

"I know you're lying. You had sex, didn't you?" he smirked.

"You're so annoying but yeah, we did," I confessed.

"I knew it," he said with a cheeky grin. "Do you miss her yet?"

"She just left, Mike."

"I mean, you spent the whole weekend with the girl; I figured you were missin' her already."

"How about we change the subject," I said.

I wasn't gonna admit that I missed someone I just met, even if it was true.

Jalissa's POV

When I finally made it home, it was 7:30. My mom was the only one home and of course, she started badgering me with questions.

"Did you have fun with Gi?" my mom asked me while I unpacked.

"I barely even saw her while I was there," I said, a little disgusted.

"What do you mean?"

"She was with Antonio Friday night and all day Saturday, so we didn't really see much of each other."

"So what'd you do?"

"I met this guy, and I hung out with him," I said, putting the suitcase away.

"Ooooh, what's his name?" she asked.

I turned around to see her grinning at me, and I shook my head. "Colin."

"Did you have sex?" she asked.

She had a ridiculously scandalous smile on her face as if she already knew.

"Mom, chill."

"You might as well tell me the truth because I know you did."

"How do you know?!"

"First of all, I'm your mother; I know things. Second, you've been walking funny from the moment you walked through that door."

Dang!

"My baby finally lost her virginity," she said with a proud smile. "How was it? Did it hurt?"

My mother is not normal.

"Mom, I do not wanna have this conversation right now," I laughed, "I just wanna relax and study for this test on Tuesday."

"Okay, but we will talk about this eventually," she smiled.

I shook my head and lied next to her on my bed. I started drifting off to sleep when my phone jolted me awake. When I saw who was calling, I tried to hide the screen from my mom.

"Hey."

"Hey. Are you already home?"

"Yes, I am."

"I'm glad you made it safely."

"Is that him?" my mom whispered.

I nodded and before I knew it, she snatched the phone out of my hand. She started having a conversation with him as if she were my age. I swear my mom thinks she my friend, but I guess that's because she had me when she was eighteen.

"Okay Cheryl, give me my phone," I said, taking my phone back. "Why don't you go in your room, and I'll come in there in a minute."

She left my room, and I waited until I heard her door close before putting the phone up to my ear.

"I am so sorry about her."

He laughed. "Don't worry about it."

"You must be pretty bored to call me of all people," I said, getting my textbook off of my nightstand.

"Well, part of me wanted to make sure you made it home safe."

I looked up from my book and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as if he could see me.

"And the other part?"

"I wanted to tell you that I already miss you."

I smiled as the heat rose to my cheeks. I'm not really used to guys talking to me like that, so it was new to me.

"I miss you too."

"Would you ever consider coming back?" I could almost hear the nervousness in his voice.

"I might."

"You definitely should."

"Well in October, I go on vacation. If you want, I'll come out there."

"That'd be cool because then you could come to a game, and we could hang out some more; you could even stay here."

"You already planned this out?"

He chuckled again. "Yeah."

I smiled. "Well then I guess that's the plan."

We stayed up talking for the longest time and when I checked the time, it was 1:45. I couldn't believe we'd been on the phone for six hours.

"I know it's late over there and I know you have class in the morning, so I'm gonna let you go."

"Okay. I'll talk to you later," I said sleepily.

"Okay. Bye, Jalissa."

I love the way he says my name.

"Bye, Colin."

I hung up, changed into some pajamas and got into bed.
