a week later...

Jalissa's POV

I'm in San Francisco because today is the day Logan & I meet Colin's family. Even though he told me not to be nervous, I was.

As soon as we left the airport, we went straight to his parents' house. I immediately tensed up and my palms became sweaty.

"Lis?"

"Huh?"

"Calm down," he chuckled.

"I can't. What if your whole family hates me?" I asked, staring at the front door while biting my nails.

He grabbed my hand and held on to it. "They won't hate you. Stop worrying."

I looked at him, and he kissed my cheek. We got out of the car, I got Logan, and we went inside.

As soon as I heard voices, I turned around to run out, but Colin laughed and pulled me back.

DANG!

While I held Logan in my right arm, Colin held my left hand and led me to the family room.

"Everyone," Colin smiled, "this is Jalissa. Jalissa, these are my parents, Teresa & Rick, my brother Kyle & his wife, Lindsay, and my sister, Devon & her son, Ezekiel."

"Hello," they said in unison.

"Hi," I said shyly.

"It's so nice to finally meet you," Rick said.

"It's nice to meet you too. Oh, and this is Logan," I said.

Logan turned to face the family, making Teresa, Devon & Lindsay gasp simultaneously and Rick & Kyle smile.

"She's so precious!" Lindsay squealed.

"Can I hold her?" Teresa asked.

"Of course," I smiled.

I handed Logan to her and the way she looked at Colin, was the same way she looked at Teresa. I saw a smile creep up on Logan's little face, which meant she was comfortable with everyone here.

She definitely knows who her family is.

We sat down and talked so they could get to know me and as I talked to them, I don't understand why I was so nervous. They're the sweetest, most genuine people I have ever met.

While we talked, Devon & I put Ezekiel & Logan on the floor to see how they interacted with each other, and they got along really well. They're so cute.

Colin's POV

It was getting late, and the kids were already asleep. We were about to leave, but my mom asked to speak to me.

"I like her, Colin," she said, looking up at me. "The three of you make such a cute family."

"Thanks, Mom," I smiled. That felt really good to hear.

"Now, when are you gonna make her your girlfriend? I can tell you both really like each other."

"I don't know. I don't think she wants to be in a long distance relationship or with an athlete."

She waved me off and shook her head. "I've seen the way the girl looks at you, Colin. I don't think she cares about that. You should talk to her. It would be nice for Logan to have her parents together."

"You're right. Well, I'm gonna take her to the house so she can get some rest. I'll talk to you later."

"Alright."

I gave her a hug, said goodbye to the rest of the family and went home.

Jalissa's POV

Colin & I were just hanging out in his living room while Logan slept. He kept looking at me like he wanted to say something, but he never said anything.

"Alright, what do you want?" I finally asked.

He cleared his throat and looked at me nervously. "I wanna talk to you about moving out here."

"Colin —"

"Wait, just hear me out. I hate not being able to see you two everyday. I don't like that we have to fly across the country or FaceTime each other just so I can see Logan."

I knew we would eventually have to talk about this; I just didn't think it would be this soon.

"What would I do about school & work? And who would watch her?"

"My mom, Devon & Lindsay said they would watch her any time and after practice, I could pick her up. Also, there's a physical therapy facility near the stadium, and you could transfer to a school out here."

He has really given this a lot of thought in such a short period of time.

"You've already thought this through?" I asked.

"Yeah. I thought about it as soon as I got home last week," he said.

"I would have to find a house, and who knows how long that could take."

"That won't be necessary," he said, inching a little closer to me. "You'll live here."

I laughed a little because I thought he was joking but when he didn't laugh back, I knew he was dead serious.

"Colin, I don't want you to change your whole life for us. You might come home from a long day and not want to hear crying, or you might get tired of seeing me everyday," I said.

"That won't happen because I'll never be too tired for my family, and I could get used to seeing your face everyday," he said, smiling at the last part.

"Okay. Well, what about my family? They're so used to seeing Logan & I all the time."

"I didn't think about that. Maybe they could move out here too."

"They love Atlanta way too much to move."

"Oh..."

He looked so upset, like I crushed his spirit, and I didn't wanna see him like this. It broke my heart.

"I'm not saying no; just let me think about it. I do like the idea of Logan getting to see you everyday."

He cheered up and gave me his famous smile. I could tell how happy he was by the way he attacked my lips.

"That's another thing we need to talk about," I said when he pulled away.

"What?"

"What are we?" I asked, "I've never kissed a guy that I wasn't dating."

"What do you wanna be?"

I shrugged. "I wanna be more than your friend."

He smirked. "Maybe we could change that when you move out here. Not only would you be the mother of my child but also my girlfriend, my lover, my queen, my —"

I cupped his face and gave him a deep kiss.

"What was that for?" he asked.

"To shut you up."

We both laughed, and I put my head on his shoulder. Moving to San Francisco might not be such a bad thing.
