ch. 24 || official

•Jalissa's POV•

It has been such a long day. Colin isn't here, and Logan has been so fussy. I'm pretty sure it's because she misses him.

I'm in the living room, trying to get some work done, when Logan starts crying softly. I go up to the nursery, and my poor child looks so frustrated.

"What's wrong, Logan?" I ask, running my thumb over her cheek. "You miss Daddy, don't you?" She calms down and starts to coo a little. "As much as I hate to admit, I miss him too. I hate being alone in this big house, but he'll be back in the morning, so don't cry."

I pick her up to comfort her and a few seconds later, she starts squealing. I turn around, and Colin is standing behind me.

"Colin, what are you doing here? I thought you weren't supposed to come home until tomorrow?"

He smiles as he walks in the nursery. "I came home early to be with my girls."

I smile a little at his response. He takes Logan, and she looks at him the way she always does from the moment she met him. I am honestly so thankful for Colin.

"So you missed me, huh?" A smirk tugged at his lips, and I suddenly felt embarrassed.

I chuckle nervously while running my fingers through my hair. "You heard that?"

He bites his bottom lip and nods. "Why would you hate to admit that?"

"Because..."

"Because what?" He puts Logan in her crib because she was now asleep. "Jalissa, talk to me."

He takes my hands into his and looks into my eyes. I hate when he does that because I always end up telling the truth against my will. Damn those pretty brown eyes.

"Because then I'd have to admit that my feelings for you are real. I thought it was just a little crush or something, but it's not. These are legit feelings."

A tear slipped out of my eyes and he wiped it away with his thumb.

"We both know our feelings for each other are mutual, but you never wanna talk about it."

"I don't want you to think we have to be together just because I'm your baby mama."

"Don't say that because you are so much more than that. I like you, Jalissa, and I want you to be my girlfriend."

Even though I know I want to be with him, I was hesitant. I guess I'm afraid of getting hurt by him, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

"Okay," I said quietly.

He smiles, showing off his pearly whites, which always makes me melt.

"Let me do this the right way," he said. "Miss Jalissa, will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"

I giggle at him calling me "Miss Jalissa" before giving him my answer. "Of course I will."

I stand up on my tip toes to kiss him, and he meets me halfway. I don't know what it is, but something about this kiss was different. Maybe because it's our first kiss as an official couple.
