Colin's POV

Ever since that day Giovanna came over here and caused all that drama, Jalissa hasn't really been herself. All she did was go to school, go to work, and come home. So today, I had a surprise for her that I knew would cheer her up.

I heard a knock at the door and when I went to open it, my surprise for Jalissa was here.

"Kaep! What's up, man? I heard you're a family man now," he said, walking in the house.

"That's right."

Cam is in San Francisco for a few days, so I asked him to stop by to surprise Jalissa.

"So, where is wifey and Little Kaep?"

"They're upstairs. Jalissa, can you come down here?"

She came down holding Logan and when she saw Cam, her eyes bugged out of her head. I took Logan from her, and she buried her face in my chest.

"Cam, this is Jalissa." I turned her so she was facing him and she smiled shyly.

"Hey, Jalissa."

Hi."

"Colin tells me you're a big fan." She nodded. "Well, it's nice to meet a fan as pretty as you."

She buried her head in my chest, again, making us both laugh.

"And this must be Little Kaepernick," he said, gesturing toward Logan.

"Yeah. This is Logan," I said.

"Hi, Logan."

She laughed and reached out for him, so I let him hold her. We all went in the living room, sat on the couch, and started talking. Cam & I decided to play Madden, so he sat Logan in between us. In the middle of the game, Logan made her way into Cam's lap, so we paused the game.

"You don't want me to play this game, do you?" he asked Logan.

She stared up at him for a while before a big, toothless smile appeared on her face.

"Oh my goodness. Logan has a crush on Cam," Jalissa whispered, burying her face in my shirt for the third time today.

Like mother, like daughter.

"First my girlfriend, now my daughter. What are you doing to my girls, Newton?"

"It's not my fault the ladies love me. Even the little ones." He tickled Logan, making all of us laugh at her infectious giggles.

"Since Cam is a little busy, I wanna play you in Madden," Jalissa said, sitting up.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure, and I don't want you to let me win. When I beat you, I want it to be because you actually tried."

She's cocky, and I like that.

Cam & I glanced at each other before I agreed to play her. He gave her his controller, and we started over. I, of course, picked the 49ers, and she picked the Falcons.

"Wanna make this interesting?" she smirked.

"How?"

"If I win, you're on diaper duty for a month."

"Alright. But if I win, you have to do anything" & everything I want you to do for a month."

She thought about it for a second, then she smiled. "It's a bet."

Cam laughed at us, she kissed my cheek, and I pulled her on my lap as the game started.

Well, she won. I don't know how she beat me, but she did. Now, I'm stuck changing diapers for a month.

"This has been fun, but I gotta go," Cam said, standing up. "Jalissa, it was nice meeting you."

"Nice to meet you too," she blushed.

"Bye Logan," he said, giving her back to me.

She smiled at him, and I gave her to Jalissa so I could walk him out. When I went back in the living room, I sat next to Jalissa.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Nothing."

"Are you lying to me?"

I looked into her brown eyes and felt obligated to tell the truth. God, how does she do that?

"Yeah," I confessed. "I think I got jealous of the way you acted when Cam was here."

She sat Logan next to me and got in my lap. "Aw! My little Kappy is jealous."

She poked my cheek, making me laugh, then kissed my lips.

"I couldn't help it. You're basically in love with him."

"No I'm not," she laughed. "I just think he's attractive, but you? You're my baby, my boo, my lover, the father of my child, and I love you."

Her eyes seemed to widen after those words slipped out of her mouth, and she looked embarrassed.

"What did you say?" I asked her.

"Um," her voice cracked. "I said, 'I want some food.' I'm gonna go in the kitchen."

She quickly got off my lap and tried to run, but I grabbed her by her waist and pinned her on the floor.

"You & I both know that's not what you said. What did you say?"

I tried to look in her eyes, but she was too busy trying to wiggle out of my grip.

"I, um, I don't really remember what I just said. Uh —"

"Jalissa."

She stopped struggling and looked me in my eyes. "I said 'I love you,'" she mumbled.

"What was that? I couldn't hear you," I teased.

"I said, 'I love you.'"

I adoringly looked down at her and smiled before kissing her. "I love you too, baby girl."
