Colin's POV

After practice, I took a shower and sat around in the locker room. I texted Jalissa to let her know that I'd be home soon and as I was putting my phone away, Michael walked in.

"Where's Baby Kaep?" he asked.

"At the house with Jalissa. Are you still coming by to see her?" I asked.

"Yeah."

I got dressed and went home with Michael following me.

"Jalissaaaaaaaa!" Michael sang when he walked in the house.

She came to the front door with her eyebrows furrowed, probably confused about who was singing her name.

"Hello, Miss Jalissa," Michael greeted her. "Do you remember me?"

"How could I forget you, Michael Crabtree?" she giggled.

"He came by to meet Logan," I said.

She nodded. "I'll go get her."

We sat in the living room while she went upstairs. When she came down, I smiled at the adorable child in her arms.

"Well, Baby Kaep may be the cutest kid I've ever seen," Michael said, "come here, Logan. Come to Uncle Michael."

Jalissa handed Logan to Michael and she seemed pretty comfortable. I guess she's just a friendly baby.

"So, Jalissa," Michael said, bouncing Logan on his knee.

"Yes, sir?"

"Do you have any plans to move out here anytime soon?" he asked.

Jalissa & I looked at each other, and she smirked. "I'm thinking about it. I think it would be good for Logan to be around —"

"Her Uncle Mike?" he asked, interrupting her. "I get it."

"Sure," she laughed, "are y'all hungry? I can make you lunch."

"Actually he's not st—"

"That is so nice of you. Thank you," Michael said, cutting me off.

She smiled and nodded before going into the kitchen.

"She makes you lunch after practice, she takes care of your kid, she's gorgeous, and she likes you. What are you waiting on to make her your girlfriend?"

"She lives across the country."

"What's your point?" he asked, "you like the girl, don't you?"

"Yeah."

"Alright then! Stop bein' a punk, and ask the girl out."

"I am not a punk."

"Prove it," he smirked, "when she comes back in here, ask her."

"I'm not gonna do it in front of you."

He shook his head & laughed then sighed. "Your dad is so scary, Logan."

Jalissa came back before I could say anything, so I just kept my mouth shut.

"Why do you look nervous?" she asked, sitting next to me. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

She raised an eyebrow, then looked at Michael, who was giving off a goofy grin.

"What's wrong with you two?" she asked.

"We were talking about something, and we need your input," he said.

"Mike, don't say anything."

"Colin & I were talking about long distance relationships and how he doesn't really like them. I guess my question is how do you feel about them? Like, would you ever consider it?" he asked her.

Even though I didn't want him badgering her with these questions, I did kinda want to know her answer.

"If I like the person, yeah."

"Okay," he smirked, "well do you like Colin?"

I looked at him, hoping he would shut up but he ignored my glare.

"Yeah," she chuckled.

"So you're saying you would try a long distance relationship with him?" he asked, leaning forward a little.

"If he were willing to try it, yeah."

"See!" he said, patting my shoulder. "Now you can ask her."

"Well if he asks now, I'll say no," she said.

"Why?!" Michael & I asked at the same time.

"Because it wouldn't be genuine, and I feel like he'd be pressured into doing it," she said.

"But if he were to ask, you would say 'yeah?'"

"Yes," she smiled.

"Good to know," he smirked.

She laughed and shook her head at him. "Well, lunch is done. I'm gonna take Logan upstairs so I can change her."

Michael gave Logan to Jalissa, and she disappeared upstairs.

"You have a big ass mouth," I said as soon as I made sure she was gone.

"If it weren't for my 'big ass mouth' you wouldn't have the answers to your questions. So I'll take that as a 'thank you Michael,'" he grinned before going in the kitchen.

As much as I hate to admit it, he was right.
