•Jalissa's POV•
When we got back to the house, I was still really mad. I was mad at Giovanna for being a bitch, and I was mad at Antonio for being a pig. After some time, I just started getting mad over stupid things. I was mad at my uncle for meeting his wife and getting her pregnant with Gi. I was mad at myself because it was partially my fault why Giovanna had turned into a bitch. I was just getting mad at petty stuff and when I realized that, I kinda laughed to myself.
"Are you alright?" Colin asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm good."
"You still mad?"
"Yep. I hate her. I hate her so much," I said, crossing my arms and sitting back on the couch.
"Hate is such a strong word, Lis."
"Fine. I strongly dislike her right now," I corrected myself.
He chuckled a little as my phone began to ring. It was my Uncle Cedric, Giovanna's dad, and I couldn't wait to tell him how much I hated his daughter.
"Hey, Uncle Ced."
"What's up, girl? How's the baby?"
I smiled seeing Logan play with Colin's face. "Well, she's hanging out with her dad right now, so she's good."
"That's nice. have you talked to your cousin recently?"
I sighed. "Unfortunately, I talked to her today and Unc, I just want you to know that I hate your daughter."
"What'd she do, Jay?"
"She basically said I'm a hoe for getting pregnant when I did."
"She what?!
"That's not even the best part. Her boyfriend tried to rape me and when I told her, she didn't believe me."
"Hold on, Jay," he said, audibly angry. "Let me call her.
If anyone were listening to that phone call, they would probably say, "Jalissa, man, I can't believe you just snitched on your cousin like that, man." But to be honest, she deserved it. If she thought I was a hoe for getting pregnant early, she was basically saying our grandmother & my mom were hoes too.
"Can I confess something to you?" I asked Colin while staring straight ahead.
"Sure."
"That party last summer wasn't the first time we met," I said.
"It wasn't?"
I shook my head. "We actually met four years ago."
"We did?"
His voice kinda cracked at the end, which made me laugh and snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah. Remember when you & Michael were at the Gold Rush tryouts when Giovanna auditioned?" He nodded. "Well, I was there that day. I was the girl that auditioned after her."
"That was you?! You were really good. What happened?"
"They actually chose me over her. She wanted it more, so I asked them if she could take my spot. She still doesn't know about that though."
"Well that was nice of you," he said after he kissed Logan's cheek. "But you don't seem like the type that would want to be a dancer."
"Well, I didn't. Giovanna told me I wasn't good enough to be a Gold Rush dancer, so I auditioned at the last minute to prove her wrong. When they "chose" her, she bragged about it for the longest, and she still kinda throws it in my face sometimes. If I were a heartless wench, I would tell her the truth."
The look on Colin's face was one I couldn't really read. He looked confused, yet sympathetic.
"I guess I'm telling you this because I needed to tell somebody the truth about her," I said. "She doesn't really care about anyone but herself and I'm glad you got to see it for yourself..."

•Colin's POV•
Since our season was over, I got to spend the day with Logan while Jalissa was in class. As much as I love football, I loved spending father/daughter time with Logan more.
It's been a couple weeks since the incident at Giovanna's apartment, and I think Jalissa was still upset about it.
I was in the living room with Logan & Bruno, when I heard her come in the house.
"Hey babe," I said when she walked in. "How was class?"
"Long & tiring. How was your day?" she asked, sitting next to me.
"Well, I got to hang out with the little one all day, so it was pretty good. Do you have to work tonight?"
"Unfortunately," she pouted.
I pouted to mock her, then kissed her forehead. Her phone started ringing, so she checked it but put it down. Her phone continued to ring, but she just ignored it. After hers stopped, mine rang.
"Hello?"
"Why isn't Jalissa answering her phone?" Giovanna asked.
"Giovanna wants to know why you're not picking up the phone," I said to Jalissa.
"Tell that hoe to stop callin' me."
I dropped my head and chuckled at her accent. "She said stop calling her."
"I want to see Logan."
I let out a frustrated sigh. "I gotta talk to her first."
"Why?" she asked, attitude evident in her voice. "You're Logan's dad."
"And? If she doesn't want you to see her, I'm not gonna disrespect her."
"Whatever. Can you just ask her?"
"She wants to know if she can see Logan."
"No," she laughed.
"Well she said no," I said into the phone.
Giovanna groaned. "She's being so annoying."
"To be honest, I don't blame her. Do you not remember what you said to her?"
"Why are you defending her so much? I know you like her, but dang."
"She's my girlfriend & the mother of my child," I said, trying to contain my attitude. "Of course I'm gonna defend her."
"What do you mean 'girlfriend?' Wh—"
"Logan's crying. I gotta go."
I hung up and put my phone in my pocket, hoping she wouldn't call back. I was over that conversation from the beginning.
"Why did you lie to her?" Jalissa smirked.
"I was tired of talking to her."
"Well I'm tired of talking about her, so forget her. Guess what?"
"What?"
"My boss called and said she doesn't need me to come in today."
"So what should we do?"
"Well, I wanna take a nap first because I'm drained, then we can figure it out when I get up I guess."
"Okay."
She laid her head in my lap, so I leaned down and planted a kiss on her lips, then Logan kissed her forehead.
"Thank you, baby girl," she giggled. "I love you too."
She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. I laid Logan on her chest and eventually, she fell asleep too. And because it was so quiet, I feel asleep as well.
