•Colin's POV•
I woke up this morning in Jalissa's bed, but she nor Logan were in the room with me. I put on my pants, then went to brush my teeth. When I finished, I went back to her room to check my phone and saw that my mom called, so I called her back.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Mom."
"How's it going? Have you seen her yet?" she asked anxiously, making me chuckle silently.
I smiled thinking about the moment I first laid eyes on Logan. "It's going good. I've seen her, and she's beautiful."
"When will we get to meet them?"
"Hopefully soon. I just have to talk to Jalissa."
"Ooohh, I can't wait!" she exclaimed, "well, you enjoy your time with your little family, and I'll talk to you later."
"Okay. Love you."
"I love you too."
When I got off the phone, I went in the kitchen where Jalissa & Logan were. When Logan saw me, she started making baby noises which caused Jalissa turn around.
"Good morning," she smiled.
"Good morning."
I sat at the table next to Logan's chair and made funny faces at her, making her laugh.
"Where are your parents?" I asked.
"I think they're at work," she said, "but I'm way too tired to cook anything so if you're hungry, we have to go out."
She put her head down on the table and closed her eyes.
"Why don't I cook, and you can go back to sleep for a while," I suggested.
"Oh no," she protested groggily. "You don't have to do that."
She was clearly exhausted because she never opened her eyes or lifted her head.
"I don't mind."
"Are you sure?" she asked.
"I'm positive."
I took my hand away from Logan, who was gnawing on it, and carried Jalissa back to her room. I kissed her forehead and went back to the kitchen.
"Okay Logan, it's just me & you until Mommy wakes up."
After just hanging out with Logan for a while, I decided to start cooking. Her mom came home and told me what she likes, so I made her waffles, eggs & bacon. An hour and a half later, I was done, and Jalissa walked back in the kitchen looking refreshed.
"You did all this?" she asked, looking at the table.
"Yeah."
She sat down and slowly started eating. I sat next to her and started eating as well.
"I talked to my mom earlier," I said.
"What'd she say?"
"She wants to meet you & Logan."
"When?"
"Whenever is convenient for you."
"Ooh, we can go some time next week," she said, "if that's okay with y'all."
"That's perfect. My family is gonna love you."
She smiled shyly, and it reminded me of the first day we met.

When we were finished with breakfast, I took a shower and got dressed. We're supposed to be going to the zoo today with Jamal and his son.
I went in the living room and Jamal was holding Logan and a little boy was standing in front of Jalissa.
"Colin, this is my son, Tristan," Jamal said.
"Hey, Tristan." He just stared at me without saying anything.
"He's kinda shy," Jalissa said, "you ready?"
"Yeah."
We all piled into Jamal's truck and went to the zoo.

Today has been such a relaxing day. I had fun, but then again, when I'm with Jalissa it's always fun.
"Thank you for being so nice to Tristan even with the way he's acting," Jalissa said.
"No problem. He's a cool kid, and I get that he's shy."
"He's not really shy. I lied about that," she sighed, "even though he's only two, he doesn't really like people."
"How come?"
She took a really deep breath and let it out before she continued.
"He used to be really friendly but when he was a year old, his mom would stuff cotton balls in his mouth, and it kept making him sick, but we didn't know that. Jamal took him to the hospital, and the doctors noticed he would get worse whenever his mom would visit, so they put a camera in his room and caught her. He's been like this since then. He doesn't talk to anyone but me, Jamal, and my parents."
I looked at Logan, who's so cute & innocent, and I couldn't understand how anyone could hurt a child.
"That's so messed up," I said.
"I know..."
Tristan & Jamal came back from the bathroom, and we went back to the house.

We pulled up to the house, and Jamal & Tristan went inside first. After Jalissa got Logan out of the car, we walked up on the porch, but Jamal came rushing out out of the house. He looked at Jalissa, and I could tell it made her nervous.
"Jamal? Jamal, what's wrong?" she asked.
"Before you go in there, you should know someone's in there," he said.
"Who?"
He wouldn't say anything which only confused her. We walked in and when we got to the living room, there was a woman sitting on the couch, and she kinda looked like Jamal.
She looked at Jalissa and a grotesque smirk spread across her face.
"Hey, Lis," she said, making Jalissa cringe. "Aren't you gonna introduce me to your friend?"
"Jalissa, who's this?" I asked, since she wouldn't say anything.
Her eyes watered up a little, and she sighed heavily. She must really not like this person.
"This is Jasmine. My sister..."
