Jalissa's POV

She always seems to show up when my life is going good.

"This is Jasmine. My sister..."

Jasmine & I do not get along at all. For some odd reason she hates me, and I've never done anything to her.

"Why didn't you tell me you had a kid, baby sister?" she asked with an annoying smirk on her face.

My parents came around the corner, and they both gave me a super sympathetic look.

"Is she staying here?" I asked them frantically.

"Lis —"

"Is she staying here?!" When they wouldn't answer me, I took that as a yes. "I can't be here right now."

I got Logan and my keys and left the house, completely forgetting Colin was here. I heard everyone calling after me, but I ignored them.

Colin's POV

I was so confused about what was going on because it just happened so fast.

"What is she doing here?" Jamal asked his parents angrily.

"We don't know," her dad said.

"Well, y'all need to make her leave," he said.

"Oh, Jamal, please! Don't you think our baby sister was being just a tad dramatic?" Jasmine asked.

"No! You always do this to her. Right when her life is going perfectly fine, you show up and ruin everything," he replied.

"What's going on?" I asked Jamal.

He glared at her for a moment, then told me to follow him in the kitchen, so I did.

"Jalissa isn't close with Jasmine like she is with me. Whenever Jasmine does decide to show her face, Jalissa leaves because she doesn't feel safe, and we never know where she goes. She may or may not come home tonight."

When Jalissa told me she & her sister don't get along, I just thought it was like bickering with each other, like normal sisters. I had no idea she was afraid of her sister.

"But she took Logan with her. What are we gonna do?!" I asked.

"I'm gonna go see if I can find her. If you want, you can come with me," he said.

We left and frantically drove around hoping we would find her.

7:45 p.m.

Jalissa's POV

It took me six hours to clear my head, which isn't as long as when she usually comes around.

I went to the park, then drove around for a while before taking Logan to see my grandparents.

"Your sister must be in town," my grandma said as she bounced Logan on her knee.

"How'd you know?"

"Because you're always happy when you come over and when you're not, it's because Jasmine's here," my grandpa said.

"I don't know why I let her get to me," I said, "I just don't like being around her."

"I understand, honey," my grandma said, "but you know you & Logan are always welcomed to stay here."
