"—and then voilá, a rose" she held up the white rose in front of her with a smile. warren watched in awe, but it wasn't about how she just grew a rose out of her hand, he was watching her. it's been six months since warren met y/n, and over time he grew a small crash on her, but when he tried to make it noticeable he liked her...it took some wrong turns.

"that was really cool, uhm y/n?" he looked down and fiddle with his hands. "yeah?" she looked at him. "let's go out" he said making her tense up at the sentence. "tonight!" he quickly added after seeing her reaction. "let's go out tonight, is what i was trying to say" he finished saying with a hint of sadness in his voice and turned a light red as he avoided eye contact.

"oh...yeah, where do you wanna go?" she relaxed again. "uhh, geez i don't know" he replied with honesty tossing the small pillow on her bed before laying down. he only said that cause he wanted to see how she would react, he got his answer just by seeing her body language.

"we can...go to the hill. look at the stars?" she suggested shrugging her shoulders. warren thought about it for a while. coming up with something in his head. "yeah, that's a good idea" he gave her a grin which she returned back.

"you've been friend zoned for six months straight" pete stated the obvious. "there has to be at least a little bit of liking back in between those times"

"even if there was, it's definitely gone. she tensed up when i said 'let's go out'. how am i supposed to ask her to be my girlfriend if she reacts like that" warren said frustrated.

"ask her under the stars" jean said. "i thought about that, but i don't think that's good enough. i want it to be special-"

"y/n is a sucker for clichés! she going to love that, i promise!" she exclaimed. "have you seen grease?"

"yeah. i know she loves-"
"have you seen grease?" jean repeated. "jane, believe me i-"
"have you seen grease?" she cut him off once more. "yes! yes i have seen grease a thousand times! what about it??" he finally replied.

"cliché baby" she snapped her fingers at him. his face scrunched up in confusion looking at scott, pete, and kurt to see if they knew what she was trying to imply. scott just shook his head being used to this side of her. pete and kurt just shrugged.

"can't you just get in her head and tell me what she's thinking about?"
jean raised an eyebrow at his request. "i'm desperate" he checked his response and nodded to himself accepting what he just said. "y/n blocks me out from her mind sometimes but i can try" she said closing her eyes and concentrating.

while jean tried countless of times to get in, he thought about y/n. about all the things he liked about her, from head to toe. like how she would scrunch would her nose every time he tapped it, or when she would accidentally snort when she laughed to hard. it was the little things that could make a person fall in love. for warren it was a lot of those.

'that is so cute' she randomly said in his head causing him to widen his eyes at her voice. he knew that she just heard everything and now that she knows she'll probably tease him about it.
'what the-get out' he said back to her.
'sorry' she quickly apologized before leaving his thoughts.

y/n and warren hiked up the hill having small talks, pick up lines, and telling jokes along the way. the sun was setting, which you could say was the perfect time to take someone to look at the view and the best way to ask someone out in the clichést way, in jane's words. warren hoped the plan will go great and not have a bad turning point like every other plan did.

one the reached the top, y/n plopped down on to the ground dramatically as warren sat beside her.

"you know the kind of boat you'll be? a dream boat" y/n playfully flirted with him. "your eyes twinkle brighter than the stars but really you're my only star" he played back earning a laugh from her. she gave him a smile before looking out in front of her.

"isn't this lovely? the view is so magical" she whispered. "yeah, and beautiful" he admired her as she look ahead. she turned her head to look at him. she gave him a smirk and started to lean in closer to him. he leaned in also but that moment ended when her head went up to his hair.

"piece of leaf in your hair" she mumbled letting out a chuckle. she tossed it somewhere and leaned back on to her arms. "y/n-"
"i love you," she said stopping his sentence. "what" he said in shock. "i lo-"
"you're like my best friend ever," 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘮
"and i feel like the universe just said 'hey let's make them best friends' 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘮
and they do say laughing is the best medicine and friends 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘮 give you those laughters"

not only has warren been friend zoned over a hundred times in last six months, but it was now one hundred and three times. !new record!

"yeah, i feel the same way" he gave a sad smile. well there goes plan F. F for fail he thought.

when they got back to the school jean immediately went up to warren with a big smile on her face but it faded once she saw a sad face from his. "didn't work?" she shoulders slumped. "didn't work?! i didn't even get my sentence out before i was friend zoned, one hundred and three times now" he threw his hands up in the air.

"maybe she's not ready, dude" scott patted his shoulder. "oh she's ready" she scoffed. "the girl complains every night about how lonely she is. but that's going to change because i've been waiting on using this plan ever since you bumped into her" she crossed and arms and raised a sneaky eyebrow.

"......and that is?" warren questioned. "secret admire clue notes" she told him peeking up in excitement. "oh...i thought it was going to be something major like—i don't know but i didn't know it was going to be that. i could have thought of that myself-" warren rambled on. "do you want me to help you because i don't have to"

"yes, if you don't mind" he responded quickly.
