"Come on get up lazy!" my best friend threw a pillow at me.

"Ugh..why so early? Its Saturday!" I threw the pillow back.

"Lyda, get up or I will pull out the big guns!" Kalen started toward me with his hands out and tickle fingers ready.

Yes my best friend is a guy and no he is not gay. We have been friends since his family joined my dads pack years ago then became best friends when his sister was killed about five years later.

We are werewolves and my dad is the alpha of the blue springs pack. I am next in line to be alpha after I turn eighteen. Oh wait that's today!!! I also will meet my mate today.(hopefully)

I can't wait to meet him. My wolf Mystic is very excited. We have waited so long to find our other half, our soulmate. To have unconditional love and devotion directed only at you.

"Get up so you can get ready for the party. Unless you want to find your mate in your pjs." Kalen shouted from my closet.

He threw random clothes at me and I sorted through the mess. I decided on a simple high-low pale blue sun dress since it is june.

Kalen left and I showered and got dressed then did a fishtail braid in my hair. I applied very little makeup and went downstairs to join my family for breakfast.

"Darling you look great." mom handed me a plate with my favorite, french toast and sausage.

"Let me know who your mate is so I can have a talk with him right away," dad said seriously.

"Really dad. What are you going to scare him away from the very beginning? " I asked annoyed.

"If he is worthy of you he won't be scared." dad was always overprotective but it has gotten worse the past few weeks since my eighteenth birthday was getting closer.

"I will talk to him too." Gavin my younger brother added.

"Sure champ but I don't think he will be intimidated by a fifteen year old." I ruffled his hair as I gave him hug.

"I can be very intimidating." he sat up taller.

"Oh here is an early birthday present and a little cake until this afternoon." mom sat a cake with a candle on the table and lit it. She knows how much I love cake. Chocolate to be exact.

"Everyone ready?"she lit the candle.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Lyda happy birthday to you." after blowing out my candle my mom handed me a little box. I opened it and saw a set of keys and a credit card.

"Really dad! You got me a new car." I squealed as I jumped up and ran outside. Sitting in the driveway was my dream car. An emerald green Mazda6 convertible with a white stripe on the hood and one running down each side. I screamed and ran to my baby.

"Told you she would love it." mom told dad smiling. "But it is green." he whined.

"Green is her favorite color and do you think it's a coincidence that the fur on her white wolf has green tips." she continued. Dad shrugged and pulled her close nuzzling her neck. They look so in love I hope I have that one day.

Sighing I mentally shook myself then I jumped in and started my baby. I lowered the roof and turned up the radio.

"Thanks mom and dad! Can I take it for a spin?" I eagerly asked.

"Of course dear but be back in an hour to get ready for the celebration." mom and dad waved then turned to go back inside.

"Hop in Gavin!" he ran to the passenger side and jumped in with a huge grin. "I thought you would want to show off your new car with your friends."

"What and we aren't friends?" I pouted jokingly. "Well I'm just your brother not like Larry and Curly." he had a sullen look as he gazed out the window.

"You will always be my overprotective little brother that I love more than anything. Even when your a pain in the ass I still want you around. I may be busy with alpha duties but I will always be there for you."

"I know and I love you for that. I just hope nothing ever happens to you or you go away."

"Don't worry you can't get rid of your bossy big sis that easy." I laughed letting him pick the music as we zoomed away.

We headed straight for Kalens house. Our other bestie, Syvie, lives next door to him so they can both see it at once.
