Chapter ??? - Destroy the Game.
“HOLY F*CKING SH*T!!” I finally screamed, falling off my bed and scrambling across the floor, and over my scattered belongings. My gameboy tumbled to the side, and I crawled over to get it, looking away from my look alike. I picked the game up in both of my hands, the screen showing the blood splattered, ‘Game Over’.
I heard footsteps running swiftly up the stairs, and I looked back at the window, to see nothing there. I breathed heavily, backing up against the wall. It was nice to have my pale cold wall pressed against my sweaty back. I trembled slightly, wiping my brow with the back of my shaking hand.
It wasn’t long before Mama burst through the door, her deep brown hair falling out of her messy bun, and her cheeks red. “What is it? What’s wrong?” She asked breathlessly.
I hugged my knees to my chest, sighing shakily. Glancing up at her, I saw Mama look at my computer, which was turned off. She looked at the plugs, probably checking for something. She kneeled beside me, placing a soothing hand on my shoulder.
“What happened?” She asked quietly. I looked at her hand, almost flinching away, but not quite. This is my Mama, she’s not going to hurt me. I tried to soothe my uneasy breathing and erratic heartbeat, and opened my mouth like a drowning goldfish. Because goldfish drown in air.
That’s what it felt like, trying to suck in enough air to form words.
“I don’t even know… There, there, there was this guy… who looked like me, and, and, and, he was in the window… like, right there.” I said eventually, my voice quivering to my utter disbelief.
I’m glad Sofia isn’t here to call me a p*ssy. But surely if anyone saw a freakish version of themselves they’d be terrified.
Right?
Mama nodded slowly, the parental nod of listening but not quite taking in what the child is saying. “Are you okay?” She asked, her brow furrowed and her eyes filled with concern
I nodded feebly, gulping. “I… think so.” I said, unsure. I’m still pretty darn certain of my impending doom.
Glancing up at the window, I swear I could see his face again, but it vanished within an instant. I shook my head.
Forget about it.
But…
Why?
First the game, then the stars and moon vanishing, then ‘Go to the forest’, now this?
I’m not sure how much more of this my poor heart can take.
Or my mental state. This can not be good for my health.
Mama nodded and stood up, heading downstairs once again to get me something to calm me down, I assume. I once again crept towards the window, and saw something on it. Was it blood? I couldn’t tell.
I got out my phone and shone the light on it.
Four words.
GO TO THE FOREST.
There was an arrow, pointing to a circle. The circle outlined the forest a short while away, and my heart stopped.
That forest?
Oh god, oh god, oh god.
No, no, no.
How does it know?
