Chapter ??? - Uh oh.
“Oh f*ck, oh f*ck, oh f*ck, oh f*ck, oh f*ck! Oh f*ck! Oh f*ck!!” I chanted, my voice getting louder and higher and faster as I cursed and cursed out of the utter disbelief that we are inside Discord.
This shouldn’t even be possible. This has to be a dream. It has to be!!
Oh god please let it be a dream.
“What is it?” Sofia asked quietly, her voice worried and her face grave. I looked down at the map, hardly readable due to the violent quaking of my hands. My vision became blurred with tears as I dropped the map and fell to the floor in an uncomfortable heap. Curling my hand into a fist and bringing it down into the dirt, getting more scared with every dull pain that the impact of it brings.
“Level… f*cking… one…” I said, my voice breaking and quivering as I brought my fist down harder. A warm tear fell down my cheek as I gritted my teeth. “Wake up, wake up, wake up!!”
“Level one, what do you mean level one?!” Jordie asked quickly, his wide grey eyes full to the brim with terror as his gaze flickered from me to Sadie then to the paper laying abandoned on the floor. Dust scattered and settled on my dark trousers as I brought my hand down.
Pain. No. Please, no.
Why? Why? Why?
I hastily wiped the tear away as I pointed to the paper. “Look at it!! It’s the f*cking map from level one…” I yelped, my lips quivering as my body shook with a silent sob. Sofia grabbed my hand and brushed the dirt off it.
“Stop that! Hurting yourself isn’t going to help!” She said, her voice was a little uneasy as she kept her eyes fixed on the paper, fluttering slightly in the silent breeze. Everyone held their breath. No one picked it up.
“I want to wake up!!” My voice was loud and clear. I was almost shouting.
Jordie’s face was pale and his mouth hung open as he stared and stared at me with those eyes. They were full of pity, accusation and pure fear. He gulped as he edged over to the paper and picked it up, his own hand trembling slightly.
“He’s right… He’s… He’s… OH F*CK!!” Jordie whimpered, biting his lip and squeezing his eyes closed.
Sofia closed her eyes and collapsed in a heap next to me. Still holding my hand, her head low. “At least we know where we are now…” She whispered.
I snatched my hands away.
Wake up.
