Sergio sighed watching at his fiancée, he could see that Megan was hurting and there was nothing that he could do to help her; she blamed herself for what had happened to her father.

Megan was constantly by Gerard’s side when she could be, she wanted her father to get better and Sergio worried that this could have a negative effect on the twins since she was so worried about Gerard.

“Megan, it’s time to leave,” Sergio murmured stretching and moving towards her, again it was time for them to leave; though he knew that she didn’t want to, Megan blinked as she looked at him and nodded.

“Do you want to stop for lunch?” Sergio asked making Megan nod as she looked at him; she rested a hand on her stomach as she stood slowly.

Megan was now thirty-one weeks pregnant and the twins were getting stronger and bigger; Sergio couldn’t help but smile as he stared at his fiancée; she looked beautiful and he couldn’t wait for them to be parents.

The couple walked out of the hospital room and headed towards the car park; the press weren’t leaving them alone and Sergio was getting a little annoyed with their presence in the private parts of their life.

Megan had enough on her plate right now and she didn’t need to be harassed everywhere that they went, she was heavily pregnant and their twins were getting bigger.

“So what are we having?” Megan asked making Sergio chuckle, he knew how hungry she got these days and the best place for them to eat; he was glad that she still had an appetite after all that had happened.

“I was thinking we head that café you like,” Sergio said making her smile and press a kiss to his lips as they reached the car; he wrapped his arms around her and held her close.

“I love you,” Megan said making Sergio smile as he opened the door to the car for her, Megan slipped inside out of the sight of the press; he didn’t want any more pictures than necessary in the paper.

“I love you too,” Sergio told her pressing a quick kiss to her lips, before he closed the door after her; he sighed looking at the press who wanted answers about what had happened to Gerard and their pregnancy.

Sergio sighed running a hand through his hair, he had no idea if Gerard was ever going to wake up; he didn’t know what was going to happen if Megan’s father didn’t wake up.

Sergio climbed into the car, he would treat Megan to a nice lunch and hopefully they would have a nice afternoon before she went to see her father again.

Gerard groaned softly slowly starting to wake up, he wanted the annoying beeping to stop; he carefully opened his eyes and looked around wondering where he was and what was going on.

The room was bright white and the beeping was still there; Gerard cleared his dry throat as a nurse walked into the room and smiled at him, she was pleased to see her patient finally awake.

“It’s nice to see you awake, Mr. Martinez,” the nurse said quickly checking his chart before moving to get him a drink; once he had, had a sip of water he spoke wanting answers.

“What happened?” Gerard asked the nurse smiled at him as she checked him over; she sighed as she made some notes on his chart, she was used to answering these sort of questions from patients like him.

Gerard watched her, he couldn’t remember what had happened only that he had left the match after seeing Megan and her brothers happy without him.

“You tried to commit suicide Mr. Martinez,” the nurse explained as she paged the doctor to come and speak with him; Gerard stared shocked as he started to remember trying to overdose.

Gerard frowned as he stared at the wall, he couldn’t believe that it hadn’t worked and that he was still alive; he had hoped that this would all be over and yet here he was sat in hospital.

"Ahh Mr. Martinez, it’s nice to see you awake,” the doctor said walking into the room; Gerard nodded his head slowly looking at him as the doctor checked the chart as the nurse left the room.

The doctor nodded along as he read the chart and then smiled at Gerard as he moved to check his patient over before he jotted down a couple more notes about Gerard.

“All appears well Mr. Martinez… we’ll work it out so that a therapist will be coming to see you shortly,” the doctor said making Gerard stare at him; this isn’t what he wanted, he wanted to go home so that he could have another attempt at suicide.

“Would you like me to contact your family?” the doctor said curiously, Gerard stared at him confused wondering what he was talking about; he didn’t have any family that would want to see him anymore.

“Family?” Gerard asked unsure making the doctor smile as he looked at the cards and other gifts from Gerard’s children; he had been surprised at the support that Gerard had received from his children.

Gerard stared at them, he didn’t believe that they were from his children and he had hurt them all too much for them to care what happened to him.

“Your children… your daughter’s been here every day since you were brought in,” the doctor revealed with a friendly smile; Gerard looked at him and nodded as the doctor smiled and left to make the necessary calls to the children.

Not even half an hour later, Megan walked into Gerard’s hospital room alone with tears in her brown eyes; Sergio deciding to wait outside for her outside of the hospital room so that she could have a moment to talk to her father.

Megan and Gerard stared at each other as tears started to fall from Megan’s as she moved to her father’s side, she then slapped his arm wanting to do much more damage to him.

“Don’t you ever do that to me again,” Megan hissed making Gerard rub his arm and nod at her slowly; he smiled softly as Megan sat down next to him and wiped away her tears.

Gerard’s eyes focused on her swollen stomach, a surge of guilt rushing through him; he blinked back tears as he looked at her knowing that he owed her much more than an apology.

“I’m so sorry,” Gerard said as Megan smiled at him softly and shook her head, dismissing his apology as she took his hand in hers; she wanted to put the past behind them so that they could start again.

Life was far too short for them to worry about anything that had happened, Gerard had nearly died and Megan didn’t think she would have forgiven herself if she had never told him.

“I know you didn’t mean it, you wanted what was best for me,” Megan said making Gerard stare at her, the two sat in silence as they wondered what to say next about them putting the past behind them.

“You’re my padre… I’ll love you no matter what,” Megan told him making tears fall from his eyes; Gerard couldn’t believe she was forgiving him, he hadn’t thought that it would ever happen.

“I love you too,” Gerard said hoarsely, he would make it up to her no matter what happened now; Megan smiled knowing that things could only get better from here, she had her father back and that was all that mattered to her.
