Chapter Seven: We're Having a Baby

Megan avoided Sergio for as long as she could, which was roughly a week before he managed to corner her; she knew that she had to tell him that she was expecting his baby but she didn't know how he would react to the news.

But when Sergio had let himself into her apartment one evening Megan knew that she couldn't hide the truth from him any longer, it wasn't fair to him that she was avoiding him.

Megan had never seen Sergio look so hurt before; he stood across the living room from her as she returned home from walking Lou, who bounded up to him when he spotted him

The couple stare at each other for a moment before Sergio took a shaky breath; he had been so worried about Megan and he didn't know what was going on.

"I thought something had happened to you... you stopped answering my calls, you avoided me at every chance you got... your work said you were dismissed..." Sergio said bitterly staring at her, he wished to know why she had just cut him out of her life like that.

Megan watched him for a second, she knew that he was hurting and it was her fault that it had come to this; she watched him as the sadness slowly faded away and was replaced with anger.

"He must be good... I mean, why else would you ignore your boyfriend of over six years for an entire week," Sergio spat at Megan, he hated the idea that she was with someone else; he wanted to hate her for making him feel like this, and for doing this to him however before he could continue Lou dropped something by his feet.

Megan swallowed thickly as she watched him as he picked the white stick off the floor; she watched the confusion flicker through his eyes before he looked at her.

"I'm pregnant," Megan said softly knowing that he wanted answers, Sergio looked at her taking in what she said; he couldn't believe that he had been so cruel to the mother of his unborn child.

Sergio moved quickly to her side before he wrapped her up in his arms as Megan blinked back tears; he couldn't believe that he was going to be a father, he felt so happy right now.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Sergio asked making Megan sniffle; she clung to Sergio as she started to cry, the stress of that week finally catching up to her.

"I thought you'd be mad..." Megan cried making Sergio shake his head as he held her close; he hated it when she cried, he hated that he might be the cause of it and he wanted nothing more than to take back his earlier words.

"I could never be mad at you for this Megan... it takes two to tango," Sergio said softly kissing her head while he tried to calm her before she started to hiccup; the Sevillian smiled gently cupping her face making her look at him.

"Have you seen a doctor yet?" Sergio asked brushing away her tears, he hated that she was upset and he was so happy right now; Megan shook her head, she had only been for the conformation and she hadn't seen their baby yet

. "I have an appointment tomorrow," Megan said making Sergio nod pulling his mobile out of his pocket and started to text Iker so that he could have his friend cover for him; it took a second for Megan to realize what he was doing.

"You don't have to come," Megan said making Sergio look at her and shake his head, pressing a kiss to her lips; she didn't want him to cancel anything on her behalf.

"I don't want to be anywhere else," Sergio told her, making Megan smile at him gratefully; this was all so new to him and he hoped that Megan never hid something like this from him again.

Fighting back laughter, Megan tried to concentrate on answering her Doctor's questions while Sergio glare at him, the morning had been nice except for the press catching them as they left her apartment.

Sergio wasn't pleased that they had waited outside her apartment block for them and they had been quick to start asking questions about his relationship with Megan.

"Okay Ms. Martinez... if you'd just pop your legs into the stirrups and lets have a look see," her doctor said after taking her blood pressure, everything looked good and they just needed to do the scan.

Megan did as she was asked ignoring Sergio's glare at her doctor as he started to prepare for the scan, so that they could confirm her pregnancy and check on the baby if she was pregnant.

Megan squeaked as he put the cold gel on her stomach making Sergio raise an eyebrow at her amused making her glare at him.

"It's cold," Megan muttered making her doctor apologize for not warning her, she blushed as Sergio took her hand; she watched his face knowing that she was glad he was with her.

Sergio sat quietly beside Megan, he couldn't believe that they were going to have a baby; it wasn't planned but he knew that it changed everything for them.

Looking at the screen, Megan's and Sergio's breath caught at the sight of their unborn child; the doctor looked at them, he smiled at them pointing out the small little bean that was their baby.

"You're about... five weeks pregnant," the doctor said thoughtfully making Sergio smirk while Megan blushed as she remembered that night; it suddenly made a little sense that she had fallen pregnant.

"So contraception was around the 17th of April... this would mean that you're due the last week of January next year," the doctor said moving to check that on his computer and enter the data.

Megan nodded her head, it wasn't going to be easy but she was sure that they would make it work; she carefully whipped off the gel as Sergio sat quietly with a small smile on his face.

"I'll just get you some information packs and some private mid-wife details," the doctor said before he left the couple alone, Megan took a deep breath before she turned to look at her boyfriend.

Megan knew that there secret was no longer a secret and they were going to have to explain this to their families; she didn't know how her father was going to react.

"What are we going to do?" Megan asked softly, she rested a hand on her flat stomach; there was no hiding now and she worried what would happen now.

Sergio shook his head, he kissed Megan knowing he wouldn't be leaving her no matter what; he was just going to have to make everyone understand what was going on between them.

The doctor quickly returned with a prescription for prenatal medicine that Megan would need and handed the couple a leaflet about midwife's that they would have to consider.

"I will see you in three weeks to check the baby's heartbeat," the doctor said as the couple prepared to leave, Megan nodded her head knowing that she would needed to make an appointment at the reception desk.

Sergio took a deep breath wrapping an arm around Megan, this wasn't going to stay a secret for long and he truly didn't want anything stressing Megan out; they were still very early into the pregnancy.

Saying goodbye to the doctor, Megan took a shaky breath looking at her boyfriend; she smiled at him wondering if they were truly ready to tell their families about them.

Megan had no idea how Sergio's would react but she truly feared what her father would do when he discovered that not only had she lied to him but she had broken his one golden rule; don't date a footballer.
