"Harry! Ron!" Adelaide calls out. She finally had a chance to speak with them. Harry and Ron turned around to see the Slytherin girl marching towards their direction. "Uh oh," Ron muttered worriedly.

Adelaide grabbed both of their arms, throwing them into an empty room, locking the door. "So tell me, was that really both of you, a few weeks ago?" Adelaide questioned. Ron gulped nervously. "Yes," Harry answered.

Adelaide narrowed her eyes, "What did you use a polyjuice potion to turn into Crabbe and Goyle?" Harry rubbed the back of his neck, "Well we kinda thought Malfoy was the Heir of Slytherin an-" "You thought what" Adelaide exclaimed and burst out laughing. "Malfoy? As in Draco Malfoy? You thought he was the Heir of Slytherin!?" she asked in disbelief. "You gotta be joking."

"Did you tell him that we pretended to be Crabbe and Goyle?" Ron asked. "Of course not, why would I do that?" Adelaide questioned. The two looked down at the floor. Adelaide sighed, "I don't blame you two if you assumed I told him, since I hang around with him, but trust me I wouldn't do such a thing."

"We're sorrying for assuming," Harry apologized. Ron gave a small nod. Adelaide gave them a soft smile. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened to you and Penelope?" Harry asked. Adelaide's smile faltered. She looked at Harry and gave him a blank stare, "All you need to know is that I don't associate myself with her anymore."

"Can I ask you one more thing?" Harry carefully asked. Adelaide only nodded. "What's going on between you and Malfoy?" Adelaide tilts her head to the side. "It's just... you and him are so close and you're a muggle born and his father is highly against mug-" Adelaide stops him before he kept rambling.

"He saw what happened between me and Penelope," she said. "He offered me to hang around him and his group so I wouldn't be alone." Harry only nods. "And about his father, I have no doubt he'll somehow find out soon," Adelaide adds. "I will have to begin to maintain my distance away from him soon."

"I'm sorry about Hermione, I heard she was petrified," Adelaide said. "Actually, we were on our way to see her," Harry said. "Oh, well I shouldn't keep you from seeing her," Adelaide gave them a small smile. "You can come with us if you want," Harry offered. "If I'm not a bother," Adelaide saids and follows them out.

Harry sits next to Hermione as Ron and Adelaide sit on a separate empty bed. "Wish you were here Hermione, we need you," Harry tells her even though she wasn't going to respond. He caress Hermione's hand, but then frowns. He takes out the crumpled parchment paper and looks over it.

"Hey Ron, I think Hermione is trying to tell us something," Harry said. "What is it?" Ron asked getting up from the bed. "The Basilisk, of the many fearsome beasts that roam our land, none is more deadly than the Basilisk," Harry begins to read. "Capable of living for hundred of years, instant death awaits any who meet this giant serpent's eye."

"That's it! The monster in the Chamber of Secrets is a Basilisk! Hermione has solved everything for us." Harry said beaming with joy. "Spiders flee before it, it all adds up. That's why I can only hear those voices. The monster is a snake!"

"But," Adelaide speaks up, "if it kills by looking at people in the eye, how come no one is dead?" Ron nods in agreement.

Harry furrowed his eyebrows and thought to himself. "Because no one did look at it in the eye, not directly at least," he said. "Colin saw it through his camera, Justin must have seen the Basilisk through Nearly Headless Nick. And Hermione had the mirror!"

"What about Mrs. Norris? I'm pretty sure she didn't have a camera or a mirror," Ron said. "Ron has a point," Adelaide agreed with Ron. Harry paused and thought once more. "Water... there was water on the floor that night. She saw the Basilisk's reflection through that."
