Adelaide stood beside Draco, Crabbe and Goyle in the greenhouse for their first class with Professor Sprout. Adelaide was glad no one has questioned Draco or the group why they had a muggle with them.

"I heard Potter and Weasely got detention already! On the first day!" Blaise whispered. Adelaide rolled her eyes and Draco smirked looking at the direction where Harry was.

"Good morning everyone!" Professor Sprout greeted everyone happily as she entered. "Good morning Professor Sprout," the students all replied. "Welcome Second Years, now gather around everyone. Today we are going to repot Mandrakes," Professor Sprout announced. "Who here can tell me the properties of the Mandrake root?" She asks. She looks around and calls on Hermione to answer.

"The Mandrake is used to return those who have been terrified to their original state," Hermione answers and adds, "It's also quite dangerous."

"Yes, yes that's right," Professor Sprout smiles at her, "Ten points to Gryffindor! Now, as our Mandrakes are only seedlings, their cries won't kill you yet, but can still knock you out for several hours, which is why I have given each of you a pair of earmuffs for auditory protection, so could you please put them on?" Everyone does as their told.

"Flaps tight down and watch my closely. You grasp your Mandrake firmly. You pull it sharply up out of the pot," she said. As she pulls the Mandrake, a loud screech was heard causing the student to cover their ears. Even with the earmuffs they were provided with, they weren't much help.

"And now you dunk it down into the other pot, pouring little soil to keep him warm." Professor Sprout then quickly placed into a pot and places some soil on it.

Adelaide turned around to the direction where she heard a thud on the floor. She looks down and sees Neville with his eyes closed. "Hm... looks as though Mr. Longbottom neglected his earmuffs," Professor Sprout comments. "No ma'am, he's just fainted," Seamus tells her, while looking at Neville worriedly.

Professor Sprout shrugs and continues, "Very well, we'll just leave him then."

"On we go! Plenty of pots to go around, grasp your Mandrake and pull it up!" she instructs and everyone follows.

Adelaide looked to her side, looking at what Draco was doing. She shook her head at what he was doing. "Draco don't be an idiot, don't do it," she whispered. Draco ignored her. The Mandrake then bit him since he put his finger in its mouth. Adelaide sighed and went back to what she was doing.

"So why is the Mudblood with us now?" Parkinson glared at Adelaide who was sitting across from them. "Could you stop bugging Pansy? You're giving me a major headache," Blaise said as he laid his head down on the table. They currently were at lunch, and Parkinson kept questioning Draco's choice.

Parkinson eventually stopped asking. Adelaide ate her food as the other five were chatting.

"Heads up everyone! Weasley's got himself a Howler!" Seamus yelled out from the Gryffindor table. Everyone in the room went quiet. "Go on Ron, I ignored one from my Gran once and it was horrible," Neville said.

Ron paled as he takes the red envelope in his shaky hands. He opens it revealing Mrs. Weasley's angry voice.

"RONALD WEASLEY! HOW DARE YOU STEAL THAT CAR! I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! YOUR FATHER'S NOW FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK AND IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT! IF YOU PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE WE'LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT HOME!"

As everyone thought it was over, the howler turns away from Ron and faces Ginny. "Oh and Ginny dear, congratulations on making Gryffindor. Your father and I are so proud!" Adelaide scoffed. After her first encounter with Ginny at the bookstore, she disliked her.
