"I'm hungry," Crabbe groaned quietly. Blaise rolled his eyes, "Aren't you always?" Adelaide stifled a laugh. They were currently seated in the Slytherin table as the house sorting ceremony was happening. "Can they just hurry up?" Crabbe groaned again. Adelaide had to admit to herself that she wanted this to hurry up as well. The house sorting ceremony was probably her least favorite part of the year.

When the house sorting ceremony finally came to an end, Dumbledore stood up and walked up to the podium. "So!" he began, "I'd like to remind you all that the forbidden forest is out-of-bounds to students, as well as the village of Hogsmeade to students below third year." He paused. "I'd also announced that there will be no Quidditch this year."

The students in the Great Hall began to whisper among each other. Dumbledore cleared his throat. "The reason that there will be no Quidditch this year is because Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event, the Triwizard tournament!" Adelaide tilted her head, curious what this tournament was about.

The Great Hall doors carefully opened, revealing Filch as he ran up to Dumbledore whispering in his ear. Dumbledore nodded and Filch ran back to the doors.

"Now for those of you who do not know, the triwizard tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests," Dumbledore announced. "From each school a single contestant is selected to compete... Now let me be clear, if chosen, you stand alone. And trust me when I say these contests are not for the faint hearted, but more of that later."

He stopped to smile. "For now please join me in welcoming the lovely students of the Beauxbatons Academy of magic and their headmistress Madam Maxime," he said as he extended his hand towards the door.

The Great Hall doors opened once more, but this time revealing a group of boys and girls dressed in a baby blue uniform, dancing up the aisle and releasing butterflies into the air. Adelaide raised her eyebrows as she saw the boys gawking over these girls. She rolled her eyes and turned to look at Draco to see his reaction.

Though he wasn't gawking at them like the other boys, he still kept his steady eyes on them. Adelaide sighed, resting her head on her hand, and looking back at the girls and boys who bowed as everyone applauded.

Behind the girls was a huge woman, taller than Hagrid, wearing shining black high-heeled shoes and a long maroon jacket-like-dress. Adelaide assumed this was Madam Maxime. She walked up to Dumbledore with a smile. She leaned down to him and Dumbledore gave her a kiss on her cheek. "My dear Madame Maxime, welcome to Hogwarts."

Madame Maxime went to sit in one of the empty chairs where the teachers were seated and her students sat down at the Ravenclaw table.

"And now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and the high master Igor Karkaroff," Dumbledore then announced.

Adelaide jumped when she suddenly heard someone loudly pound their staff on the floor. The sudden jump made Draco smile a bit and ruffled her hair. Adelaide looked at him and lightly slapped his hand away to fix her hair. She then looked back towards the doors of the Great Hall and saw that now a series of older boys stood.

The boys started to walk up the aisle brandishing bo staffs, twirling them around and periodically stabbing them into the ground with a spark effect as some of the boys began to breathe fire.

A man, who Adelaide assumed was Igor Karkaroff, walked alongside whom she recognized as Viktor Krum from the Quidditch World Cup. "Dumbledore!" Karkaroff called out. "Igor," Dumbledore smiled as they came to an embrace. Karkaroff sat next to Madame Maxime and Dumbledore now turned back to the students. "Welcome to Hogwarts students of Durmstrang and Beauxbatons! And now let's begin the feast!"

"Finally!" Crabbe exclaimed as food began to appear on the table. Crabbe grabbed a chicken leg and before he could grab a bite from it, the Great Hall doors burst open. "Oh come on!" Crabbe whined.

A strange man shrouded in a black cloak stood in the doorway, leaning upon a long staff. The charmed ceiling began turning dark as lighting began to grow. "Stupid roof," he muttered. He then lifted his staff, casting a spell upwards to seal the roof.

The Great Hall was quiet as all the attention was focused on this strange man. He walked up at the front of the Great Hall and sat in the last empty seat with the rest of the professors. Dumbledore stood up once more and turned to the students.

"May I introduce our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher?" Dumbledore announced. "Please welcome Professor Alastor Moody."

"That was a good meal," Crabbe said delightfully as he rubbed his stomach. "Where do you suppose Durmstran and Beauxbatons are going to sleep?" Blaise asked. Adelaide shrugged.

They stopped in front of the common room doors. "Parseltongue." Draco said, then the doors opened. "Those girls though!" Blaise exclaimed once entered. Adelaide rolled her eyes, "What about them?" "They're stunning! Am I right Draco?" Blaise asked. Draco shrugged, "Though some of them are part veela, most seem like the majority of the girls here."

"You make it sound like all of the girls here are ordinary and unworthy of catching your eye," Adelaide retorted. "Excluding you of course," Draco replied back.

Crabbe and Blaise looked between the two. "Am I missing something?" Crabbe said cluelessly and Blaise just grinned. Adelaide froze and looked at Draco who had a smirk on his face, and turned away and smiled to herself. She then got up and faked a yawn. "Well I'm heading off to bed because I'm tired," she quickly said with her back turned to him, in the attempt to hide her blushing face. Draco's smirk grew.

"Wait!" Draco called out. "Yes?" Adelaide said slightly turning, but still hiding her face. Draco slightly ran up to her and hugged her from behind. Adelaide grew tense and then felt herself getting weak in his arms. She felt heat take over her body as Draco stuffed his face in her hair. "Goodnight," he said, with a muffled voice and hugged her tighter. He then kissed the back of the side of his head and let go.

Adelaide quickly went up to her dorm and shut the door. She put a hand over her chest and felt that her heart was beating fast. She quickly changed quietly, since her three roommate were already fast asleep. She then layed in bed, tightly hugging her extra pillow. She closed her eyes and breathed in. She smiled that Draco's smell still lingered on her. With the image of Draco in her mind, she quickly fell asleep.
