Later that day, Adelaide sat alone in the library reading. "Why do you always have you face shoved in a book when you have free time?" Draco appears from behind her. "Have a problem?" Adelaide asks without taking her eyes off the book.
"What do you want Potter?" Adelaide looked up and sees Harry standing in front of the table glaring at Draco. "I need to speak with Adelaide, Malfoy," Harry demanded. "What for? You have no business with her," Draco scoffed.
Adelaide rolled her eyes at the bickering. "What do you need Harry?" Harry looks down at her. "Can I talk to you in private please?" he pleaded. Adelaide sighed as she starts getting up just to be pushed back down by the blonde boy beside her.
"Stop making this a big deal Malfoy, I only want to speak with her!" Harry argued. "Leave," Draco ordered. "Harry just say what you want and leave," Adelaide said with a hint of annoyance.
"Stay out of this Rosewood," Draco snapped. "I can't really if the topic is about me," Adelaide replied. "Harry if you don't have anything important to say, could you kindly leave?" Adelaide told him before she went back to reading her book. Harry pursed his lips as his heart started to hurt. "I shouldn't have come... it was a mistake for coming here," he mumbled to himself as he turned around and left.
"What the bloody hell did Potter want?" Draco hissed. "Well you see Draco," Adelaide started out and looked at Draco watching her. "I would have known if it wasn't for your annoying arse," she stated glaring at Draco and returning to her book once again.
Draco glared at Adelaide, but soon smirked as the thought of an idea. He grabbed the book out of Adelaide's hand and started walking towards the exit of the library. "Hey! Give that back Malfoy!" Adelaide yells out. Draco turned around and walked backwards. "Only if you say sorry for what you just said," Draco taunts. Adelaide huffed, "No." Draco turns back around. "Hm, well I guess you won't be getting this book back," he says as he waved the book in the air.
"Alright! I forgive you," Adelaide sheepishly said looking at the ground. Draco turns and walks towards her. "Great choice," he devilishly grinned, handing the book back to her.
They sat in the Great Hall for dinner gossiping about things that were happening. Parkinson sits down followed by a girl, Penelope Clearwater. Adelaide looked up and gave Penelope a blank stare. She has not spoken to her or acknowledged her since the day at Diagon Alley. She ignores her in their dorm.
"Why is Clearwater here Pansy?" Draco asked, his voice implying that Penelope wasn't welcomed near them. Parkinson smirked at Adelaide, "This is a new friend of mine." Adelaide went back to eating her food. "Sit somewhere else with your new friend then," Draco demanded. "But Dracypoo, we want to sit with you," Parkinson whined.
Draco turned to look at Adelaide and turned back towards Parkinson, "Either Clearwater leaves, or both of you leave." Parkinson frowned, "But why?" "I don't want her here," he replied. "I don't want the mudblood here with us, but I don't complain," Parkinson argues.
"Well, unlike you, we enjoy having Adelaide with us," Blaise speaks up as he wraps his arm around Adelaide's shoulder. Adelaide turns her head and smiles at Blaise.
"She's a mudblood, Penelope is a pureblood, understand the difference?" Parkinson insisted. "Pansy just leave," Draco growled. Parkinson huffed and glared at Adelaide. "Let's just go Penelope," she said as she stomped away with Penelope trailing behind her.
Soon after dinner ended, the students were on their way to their dorm. They all stop and silence fills the air. Draco pushes forward from the crowd to see what their looking at He glances at the wall and grins a nasty grin.
"Enemies of the heir beware," Draco reads the wall written in blood and smirks. "You'll be next Mudbloods," he smirks looking at the crowd across from the side he was on.
"What's going on 'ere?" Filch appears and glances at his cat hanging on a torch bracket. "Mrs. Norris? You've... you've murdered my cat!" He yells in horror point at Harry.
"No, no, I didn't do it" Harry tries to reason with him but gets ignored. "I'll kill ya!" Filch threatens him, "I'll kill ya!"
"Argus!" Dumbledore calls out followed by the teachers making their way towards the wall. "Everyone will proceed to their dormitories immediately," he orders. "Everyone except you three," he said looking at Ron, Harry, and Hermione.
Once Draco and rest arrived to the SLytherin common room, Draco layed on the couch and glanced at Adelaide. "You know, what I said wasn't directed towards you, it was directed towards Granger," he said softly. Adelaide turned and looked at him, "I know."
While everyone went off to bed, they stayed there. Draco was laying on the couch staring at the ceiling and Adelaide sat on the floor staring at the fire in the fireplace.
"I'm off to bed," Adelaide said after a while of staring at the fire. She gets up and glanced at Draco, who was alright asleep. Adelaide laughed to herself and quickly went to her room and grabbed a spare blanket.
"Goodnight Draco and thanks for earlier," she whispers to him as she carefully puts the blanket over him, careful of not waking him up. She gets up and glances at his sleeping form once more before she makes her way back to her room.
