"That's a pretty hair clip Adelaide, where'd you get it?" Penelope asks. "I'm not sure," Adelaide said, "It was under the Christmas tree with my name on it."

Adelaide got up and looked through the shelves looking for a new book to read. "How'd your Christmas go Penelope?" Adelaide asked. "It went like it usually goes for us, nothing new," Penelope said looking at the ceiling, "What about you?" "Oh, I mostly spent my Christmas playing Wizards Chess with Ron and Harry," Adelaide replied, leaving out the part where she and Harry went into the Restricted Section and caught Snape and Quirrell in an argument.

Penelope sat up and looked at Adelaide, who was still looking for a new book that sounded interesting for her. "You what?" Penelope asked. "Played wizard chess," Adelaide said, "Why?" Penelope shook her head, "No, who were you with?" Adelaide smiled because she finally found a book, "Oh, with Harry and Ron." Penelope got up from the couch, "I thought I told you to stay away from them Adelaide." Adelaide looks up at her, "I know, but they are also my friends."

"You should listen to your friend Mudblood," Penelope and Adelaide turned around noticing Draco and his group walking in the room, "Clearwater has a point." Adelaide said nothing and turns her attention back to her book, trying to avoid the fact the everyone was staring at her.

"Did you steal that?" Adelaide looks up at the sound of Parkinson's annoying voice. "Steal what?" Adelaide asked with a confused expression. "The hairclip you have on," she said drawing the attention to the hair clip on Adelaide's black, raven hair. "Of course you stole that, there's no way you could afford something like that," Parkinson said with a smirk.

Draco gazed at the hairpin intensely. "I did not steal anything Parkinson," she said. "Oh really? Where'd you get it then, Mudblood?" Parkinson spat out testing her.

"I got it for her," someone said walking into the room, "I got it for her, now leave her alone." Parkinson rolled her eyes, "And who are you?" The black haired boy smirked and looked at Adelaide, "One of Adelaide's secret admirers of course." Adelaide turns beat red. The boy smirks at Draco who was currently glaring at him.

Penelope rolls her eyes, "Let's go Adelaide." She grabs her arm and leads her out.

"Who do you think that was?" Adelaide asks. Her face now calmed down, but still warm. "No one important," Penelope replies back.

Adelaide jumped at the feeling of someone's arm around her. "Ugh, why did you follow us out here Baisel," Penelope said annoyed. "Just wanted to see my little sister's friend," he replied. "Wait, he's your older brother?!" Adelaide exclaimed. "You didn't tell her about me Nell?" Baisel pouts. "Nell?" Adelaide asked confused. Penelope rolls her eyes. "My nickname for her," Baisel winked.

Some time has passed at Hogwarts, and now the school year was ending. "This year was great, don't you think Addy?" Baisel asks Adelaide. She nodded. Penelope and the two were heading to the Great Hall to see who has won the House Cup. "I know Slytherin won," Penelope said skipping in the hall.

Everyone was gathered in the Hall buzzing with excitement. Dumbledore rises and smiles, "Another year gone, and now the House Cup needs awarding," he starts, "In fourth place, Gryffindor with 312 points. Third place, Hufflepuff, with 352 points."

"We are definitely first," Penelope whispers to Adelaide. "In second place Ravenclaw with 426 points. And finally in first place, with 472 points, Slytherin House!" Everyone in Slytherin House cheers as the banners turn green, representing their house colors. "I told you!" Penelope exclaims and hugs Adelaide. Adelaide laughs and hugs her back.

"Yes, yes, well done Slytherin, well done," Dumbledore starts again, "However, recent events must be taken into account." Penelope frowns, "What?" "I have a few last minute points to award."

"Nooo," Penelope whispers. "To Miss Hermione Granger, for the use of cool intellect when others were in great peril, 50 points. Second to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has ever seens these many years, 50 points," Dumbledore continues, "And third, to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor House 60 points." Everyone from the Gryffindor table cheered.

"We're tied," Adelaide whispered. "We can't be, when did this happen," Penelope said in disbelief. Others in the Slytherin table glared at the Gryffindors.

"And finally." Penelope clenches her first. "It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends, I award 10 points to Neville Longbottom," Dumbledore says sending a soft smile at Neville.

"This can't be possible!" Penelope exclaims as the Gryffindors cheer for their win. "Assuming that my calculations are correct, I believe that a change of direction is in order." Dumbledore claps then the green banners to red, Gryffindor's house color. "Gryffindor wins the House Cup!" he yells out.

Everyone get up and cheer except the Slytherins. Adelaide didn't want to admit it, but she was pretty upset, even though her Gryffindor friends won. She watches Harry, Ron and Hermione jumping around and celebrating their win.

"It's alright Penelope, we'll win next year," Adelaide tells her friend, trying to cheer her up. Penelope only nods. "Let's go find a go find where to sit, alright?" Adelaide said as they walk on the train to go back home.

"We'll miss you Addy," Baisell seeds hugging Adelaide. "And I'll miss both of you as well," Adelaide smiles.
