"Well? What did you tell him?" Blaise asked. Draco kept his hardened gaze on her.

"I just told him that I would think about it," Adelaide said as she looked down. Draco observed her. She seemed to have a habit of looking down and fiddling with her fingers.

"Are you considering it?" Draco spoke up. Adelaide pursed her lips, remaining to look down, and said nothing. There was silence that felt like it lasted for hours. You should feel the tension in the room and Adelaide felt like she was suffocating because of that tension.

"I see." Draco stood up and went back to his dorm, slamming the door behind him. Both Blaise and Adelaide flinched. Blaise looked towards Adelaide who still had her head down. He sighed and stood up, giving her a soft smile.

"Don't worry, he'll get over it soon." At this Adelaide scoffed, "soon?" "Okay maybe not soon, but eventually."

Adelaide stood up. "I really don't care if he gets over it or not," she said coldly and headed to her dorm, leaving Blaise in the common room.

Blaise's eye slightly widened at her tone, as he stared at her dorm door. He sighed in frustration.'I see.' His voice was forced out, slightly controlling it so it wouldn't shake. He was struggling with himself. His jaw clenched and his hands in fists, slamming the door of their dorm.

"Ugh," he ruffled his hair and groaned. He turned around to look at his dorm that he shared with Draco.

"Can those do just be honest with each other?"

A few days had passed since Harry's confession. Adelaide and Draco were both avoiding each other, which caused questioning looks from Crabbe and Goyle because of their behavior.

Crabbe leaned over to Blaise and whispered, "What the bloody hell happened between them?" Of course the two weren't together all the time, but it was obvious something had happened because Draco hadn't been talking about her as usual. He hasn't been talking much at all either.

Blaise didn't reply and glanced at Draco, who seemed to be staring off into space. Blaise followed Draco's gaze across the Great Hall and landed at Adelaide's figure. She was sitting with the golden trio, just like she has been doing for the classes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the past few days since what happened in the common room.

Blaise just sighed. It's all he could do. Adelaide was also avoiding him. She was avoiding everyone in Draco's friend group. Has she accepted him yet? Did she really accept Potter?, he thought.

Neither Draco or Blaise knew if she had accepted him or not. Blaise watched her laugh at Granger and Weasley, probably at something dumb he had done. Blaise looked away and focused on his own table.

"Stop laughing, would you?" Ron groaned as he rubbed the spot where Hermione just slapped him. "Okay, okay I'll stop," she tried to say between her laughs.

Harry, who was sitting beside her, rested his head on his hand at Adelaide's direction. "Have you thought about what I said?" Harry asked her. Ron looked up from his food and Hermione from her book, both confused.

"Thought about what exactly?" Ron asked as he munched on his food. Harry said nothing and continued to stare at Adelaide, with a smile.

At that moment, Adelaide shivered slightly, as she felt someone's hard stare at her. She slowly guided her eyes to the Slytherin table, where he currently resided. Their eyes clashed with each other. Adelaide quickly looked away and looked at Harry with a small smile.

She hadn't put much thought into it at all. The golden trio had distracted her mind from what happened that day.'Stay away from my son, you filthy mudblood.' Adelaide pursed her lips together as she sighed, knowing she'd regret this, but it was for the best.

These five words caused Ron and Hermione's eyes to widen, and choke on their pumpkin juice. These five words were said, with the intention that would fix everything. Thinking that it would make him stay away from her. She forced a smile as she uttered the words,

"I'll go out with you."
