It's been awhile since Adelaide agreed to Harry's request. Hermione and Ron were both shocked about it. It seemed like Harry didn't tell them anything about asking her. She laughed at their reaction.

It had also been a long while since she talked to Draco ever since they last talked. She hasn't talked to Blaise either. Honestly she thought she would've missed them, but she had been getting used to not talking to them, so it didn't really bother her.

Adelaide currently sat in the Slytherin common room alone, reading her muggle book she brought from home. Everyone had another trip to Hogsmeade, so everyone was gone. Since Adelaide didn't get her form signed, she obviously couldn't go. She would've spent her time with Harry right now, but Harry told her that he needed to do something at Hogsmeade. Since he didn't have his form signed either, he had to use his Invisibility Cloak to sneak out.

Adelaide sighed and closed the book. Romeo and Juliet. She started at the cover. It's not the first time that she has read it. It was the fourth time already. Tragic story it was. Romeo ends up killing himself because he thought Juliet was dead, even though he wasn't. Juliet then wakes up with Romeo dead by her side, and kills herself as well.

"Hm? Romeo and Juliet?" Adelaide jumped and felt shivers down her spine as the familiar voice spoke beside her ear. She felt his breath fan her ear and smelled the familiar expensive cologne. She turned her head and came face to face with Draco Malfoy, who was just inches away from her. She looked at him, wide eyed, and quickly came to her senses. She stood up from the couch and backed away from him.

Draco said nothing and stayed in the same position he was in, leaned against the back of the couch. All that changed was that he lifted his head to look at her flustered state.

"What are you doing here?" Adelaide said rather quickly. Her face was burning right now, she thought she was the only one who stayed from her house. Draco stared at her, and she felt rather uncomfortable as she clenched her book tightly against her.

He stood up, crossed his arms, and smirked, "What? Am I not allowed to be in my own house's common room?" Adelaide glared at him, "You know that's not what I meant." Draco tilted his head to the side and raised a brow at her. "Why aren't you at Hogsmeade like everyone else is?"

Draco shrugged, "Didn't feel like going." Draco walked around the couch. He sat down, crossed his legs, and laid his arms on top of the couch.

"So why aren't you with Potter?" Draco said. Adelaide looked away and stared at the fire beside her. "I've heard you two are together now," Draco said with disgust in his tone, "It's annoying hearing that stuff." Adelaide raised a brow at him. "Annoying?" "Why aren't you with him?" Draco asked again.

"He had something to take care of at Hogsmeade, and since I never got my form signed I couldn't go," Adelaide said not realizing that she just told Draco that Harry was at Hogsmeade, everyone knew he didn't have his form signed.

"Hogsmeade?"

"Yes."

"I thought he didn't have his form signed."

"He doesn-," Adelaide's eyes widened and she snapped her head to Draco. She now realized her mistake. She opened her mouth to say something, but nothing would come out. She just exposed Harry to Draco, and there's no doubt he'll snitch on him.

Draco snorted, "Don't worry, I won't tell on him." Adelaide let out a sigh of relief and Draco saw her relax a bit.

"Do you even like Potter that way?" Adelaide gave him a questionable look. "I refuse to believe that you like him like that and I know you don't, so then why? Why are you with him?" Adelaide felt herself tense. She didn't know how to respond, because he was right. She didn't like Harry that way. Draco saw right through her.

His eyes softened and took a deep breath. He's hesitant to tell her how he felt. It would complicate things and he was scared she didn't feel the same way. "Adelaide..." he said in a soft voice, looking at her. She looked at him with wide eyes. She couldn't remember when the last time he called her by her first name was, or if he had before anyways.

"I like you."

Adelaide froze, kept looking at him with her eyes wide, and her face heating up. "Wh-What did you just say?" she stuttered. "I like you Adelaide," Draco repeated, keeping his gaze on her. He risked it and told her how he felt. Adelaide opened her mouth, but no words would come out. She was thunderstruck.

Draco felt himself feel less confident and insecure when Adelaide wouldn't say anything. She just continued staring at him shocked. Draco bit his lip, contemplating if he should go further. He could just play it off as a joke, but he would never do that. She'd hate him forever.

"Leave Potter and be with me. He doesn't deserve you and you don't deserve him," Draco pushed further. Adelaide pursed her lips and looked away, clutching her book tighter than ever. Draco bit inside his lip. "It's okay if you're not ready to answer me right now, I'll wait for you."

As if the timing was perfect, the common room doors opened and loud chattering of Slytherin's were able to be heard as they came in. Adelaide looked at the doors, then the floor—looking at Draco from the corner of her eyes. Adelaide didn't know what else to do, but run and hide, so that's exactly what she did. She turned around and started to head to the dorm room.

Something held her back. She looked down and saw Draco's hand clasped around her wrist. She felt her face heat up again. She didn't know how to act now around him. She trailed her eyes from his wrist to his face. He looked back at her, giving her a small smile.

"Adelaide! Don't you dare move from where you are!" Blaise's voice was heard from afar. Adelaide heard him coming closer, but she was frozen. Draco let go of her wrist, then she felt arms wrap around her.

"I've missed you," said Blaise as he hugged her from behind, stuffing his face in between her neck. "We all missed you." He let go of her and turned her around. She saw Blaise pouting at her and she felt herself relax as her heart was warming up.

She gave him a soft smile. Blaise's expresion then turned serious. He grabbed the bother of her arms and looked straight at her in the eyes. "Don't ever avoid us again Adelaide Rosewood." Adelaide's eyes softened and nodded. "Okay, I won't."

"Promise?"

"I promise."
