Adelaide woke up bright and early the next morning for breakfast. She got ready for the day. She took a quick shower, brushed her teeth, combed her hair, and put on her uniform. She got up before any of her roommates did, and she was glad that they were deep sleepers. She looked at her mirror and smiled to herself, feeling fresh.

Adelaide quietly opened the door and shut it. The Slytherin common room was empty and a bit cold. She looked over the couch. I like you. Draco's words echoed in her mind as she felt herself heating up. She shook the thought out of her mind. She looked away from the couch. Stop it, you're with Harry. Adelaide then left the common room and headed to the Great Hall for breakfast.

Though it was still a few minutes before breakfast started, there were people already seated in the Great Hall. Her eyes scanned the room and she spotted the Golden trio seated in their usual spot in the Gryffindor table. She grinned at them as she made her way to them.

"Someone's seems overly joyed today," Harry muttered as he saw his girlfriend skipping over towards them. He gave her a small smile as she sat down next to him. "Maybe a little too happy," Ron commented. Adelaide shrugged, "I'm just in a good mood today." Her smile soon was replaced with a frown, when she saw their faces. "What's up with you three today?"

"We'll tell you later," Hermione told her and she nodded. "How was Hogsmeade?" she asked Harry. Harry clenched his fist from under the table, which Adelaide noticed. She looked at Harry's clenched hand and placed her hand, lightly on top of his. He looked at her and she gave him a small smiley, which he returned.

"Ahem." Someone cleared their throat to get their attention. The four looked up and saw that it was Gregory Goyle standing in front of them. "Draco and Blaise would like it if you sat with them today," Goyle said. "Bloody hell no," Ron said. "Why would-" "Not you Weasley , only Rosewood." Goyle sneered and walked away.

The three looked at Adelaide in question. "You've made up with them?" Ron asked. Adelaide nodded her head, "Just yesterday." Adelaide looked across the room and saw Draco and Blaise, who was stupidly waving his arm at her, both looking at her. She hadn't noticed them enter the Great Hall.

Harry followed her gaze and looked at them in disgust. "Must you go sit with them?" he asked in a slightly bitter tone. "Come on Harry, they are my friends too." Adelaide said. Harry looked at them then at them—clenching his teeth. "And I haven't talked to them in awhile."

"Fine." Adelaide grinned and she hesitantly kissed him on the cheek. She didn't know if she did it or not, but if it calmed down Harry, she thought it'd be fine.

Harry turned a light shade of pink as he felt Ron and Hermione's eyes on him as he watched her walk away. He then caught Draco's eyes from the side, who had a piercing glare on him. Harry smirked.

"Harry," Hermione said sternly, "are your feelings for Adelaide honest?" Harry turned to look at her and frowned. "Of course, why would you say that?" Ron gave him a look, and Hermione said nothing, as she went back to what she was doing.

"Blaise," Adelaide laughed as she walked up to the two, "do you know how stupid you look waving your arm in the arm like that?" Blaise pouted, "I was just trying to catch your attention." Adelaide laughed and rolled her eyes, as she took a seat down across them—getting ready to eat her breakfast before heading to class.

———

"Well, what's up?" Adelaide asked the three as they sat outside in the courtyard. "It's about? Sirius Black." Adelaide looked at her puzzled. "What about him? Has he been spotted again?"

"He's Harry's godfather," Hermione said. "Harry found that out on the last trip to Hogsmeade." Adelaide's eyes widened and looked at Harry in shock. "Godfather?"

Harry nodded and glared at a random pebble that was laying on the ground. "And he betrayed my parents." Adelaide looked at him in sympathy and gave a small side hug. "I'm sorry." Harry turned his head to look at her, "What for?"

"I just don't know what else to say but I'm sorry."

Adelaide then thought of their class earlier in Defence Against the Dark Arts.

"I wonder where Professor Lupin was today." Harry nodded. "Snape isn't even teaching us the material we were learning on." Hermione complained. "We're on a whole different topic!" Ron exclaimed. Hermione sighed.

———

Weeks have passed. Adelaide spent more time now with Draco and Blaise ever since they made up. Of course this got on Harry's nerves. Yes she still hung out with them, but not as much. Harry felt like she would forget about them sometimes, like she'd forgotten that he existed when she's with Malfoy. He watched her as she laughed with them from afar. It pissed him more when Draco would notice he was looking, and sent him a smirk.

"The bloody git," Hermione cursed on her breath, with tears in her eyes. Hermione came stomping up to them. "What wrong Hermione?" Ron asked her.

"Buckbeak! He's going to be sentenced to death!" Hermione exclaimed. "It's all Malfoy's fault. Lucius Malfoy was furious when he heard what happened to his son." Harry's eyes widened.

"When is he being executed?"

"Today at sundown."

The three glared at Malfoy and Adelaide. "Do you think she knows?" Harry asked quietly. "How could she possibly not! She hangs out with the git all the time now," Ron scoffed. Hermione studied her, "I have a feeling she doesn't know."

"What makes you say that?" Ron muttered, still glaring at the two from afar. "If she knew, she wouldn't be laughing like that right now. Just looked at her, she wouldn't be happy and smiling like that if she knew, especially at him."

They watched as the two Slytherins, including Goyle and Crabbe, walked away from her. Adelaide innocently waved bye, clueless of where they were going. Though, the three knew exactly where they were going.

Adelaide sighed looking around what to do. She spotted the three Gryfindors watching her. Adelaide was taken aback from their glares, but ignored it as she put on a smile. Harry's eyes softened. Maybe it's true she doesn't know.

"Have you heard?" Ron asked her harshly. She looked at him confused and Hermione who had dried tears on her red cheeks. "Heard what?"

"Buckbeak is going to be executed today at sundown."

Adelaide's eyes widened and she gasped. "B-but why?!" she exclaimed. "Malfoy." Ron scoffed. Adelaide furrowed her brows. "Malfoy? What about him, he hasn't told anything." Ron narrowed his eyes at her in doubt.

"His father was furious about what happened to him a few weeks ago."

Adelaide looked down. She was hurt Draco didn't tell her about this. The reason Draco didn't tell her was because he knows he was going to be furious. She would avoid him again. She wouldn't talk to him again. He had a reason not to tell her. Plus, Draco couldn't do anything if he wanted Buckbeak to be executed or not. Once his father found out, you can't change his mind.

Hermione stood up, leading the way down to Hagird's hut. The three followed quietly behind her.
