The heavy rain was heard hitting by the window the next morning. Adelaide sat on her bed looking out the window, while Hermione and Ginny got their trunks ready to leave for the Hogwarts Express. Ever since the day before, the Golden trio hadn't spoken a word to her. Ginny didn't say anything either due to the tension.
Adelaide was the last time to go downstairs. She didn't eat breakfast because she didn't want to deal with them at the moment. Before she reached downstairs she could hair the muffled voices of four Gryffindors.
"Harry she can't be trusted!" Adelaide heard Ron exclaim. "I think you need to calm down Ron," Hermione said.
"Hermione she-"
"Shut it Ron," Ginny said annoyed. "I know you guys don't fully trust her either!" Ron ignored Ginny. There was silence for a few seconds before Harry was heard. "I want to trust her, but..." Harry's voice wavered off.
"What are you standing here for Miss Rosewood?" Fred said as he appeared behind her, along with George. "Just eavesdropping," Adelaide said bluntly and proceeded down the stairs. The four Gryffindors all turned to look at her as she reached down the stairs but all quickly looked away.
Two hours later, they arrived at King's Cross. Once they went through the wall barrer to get to the platform of nine and three-quarters, they were able to spot the Hogwarts Express in front of them.
"Harry. I need to talk to you alone." Adelaide called out before he entered the train with Hermione and Ron. The three stopped and Hermione and Ron looked at Harry. "You two can go on," Harry told them and they hesitantly nodded before turning back.
"I'll go straight to the point. I think we should end this." Adelaide said sternly.
Harry's eyes slightly widened, "Adelaide, look, I'm sorry about the yesterday, but please do-"
"I'm done okay. We're done."
Harry froze from where he was as Adelaide walked towards the entrance of the train, slightly shoving Harry on the way. Harry was speechless. Though he was expecting this to happen, he didn't think it'd happen so soon.
Adelaide stepped on the train and sighed. Now to look for a compartment, she thought to herself. She walked through the train looking for an available compartment, before someone grabbed her arm, turning her around.
"Adelaide please," Harry begged. Adelaide huffed, "Let go Harry."
"Adelaide, those Slytherins you're always with can't be trusted!"
The compartment door next to Adelaide slid open. "Are you saying she can't trust her own house?" Draco sneered. "I'm saying she can't trust people like you," Harry scoffed. Adelaide laughed bitterly, "How could you say that if you don't even trust me."
Harry immediately let go of Adelaide's arm. "Adelaide I think you misunderstood me or something." "No Harry, I heard all three of you this morning talking about how you can't trust me."
"Come on," Draco said and he pulled Adelaide's arm into the compartment before closing it.
"Adelaide!" Blaise exclaimed immediately after and hugged her. "Are you okay?! Draco has just told me about what happened yesterday!" Adelaide laughed at Blaise's behavior, "I'm fine, don't worry."
Blaise let go and sat back in his seat. He scoffed, "I can't believe scarhead just said we can't be trusted." "You heard that?" Adelaide asked, confused. Draco laughed from beside her, "I bet everyone on the train heard you two." Adelaide turned to him as she felt herself getting embarrassed, "we weren't that loud."
"Have you ended it with him already?" Draco then asked. Adelaide nodded, "Just a few minutes ago."
Crabbe suddenly started laughing along with Goyle. Blaise, Draco ,and Adelaide all looked at them confused.
"S-sorry," Crabbe said clutching his stomach, "I was just thinking about Weasley's dress robes." Draco and Blaise then started laughing along with the two. Adelaide looked at all of them confused.
"Dress robes?" Adelaide asked. "You'll see them in a few months," Draco snickered.
