I've been trying to do time stamps like someone suggested and honestly I wish I knew when I came up with this one, but I know it was around the ending of 2018/ beginning of 2019 in like January so sorry about that, but here's this oldish opinion now
*Quick Disclaimer: In this opinion it talks about one particular idol in general and touches slightly on the topic of weight. In NO WAY AM I BODY SHAMING OR HATING ON THIS IDOL! I really respect this idol in multiple ways and am not trying to be rude. I'm not hating either so please don't comment that I'm hating on this idol. I respect him as a person and artist and wish him all the best*
So today I'm gonna be talking about how much I really RESPECT Shindong from Super Junior for being in this entertainment industry.
So if you're familiar with Shindong and Super Junior then you know who I'm referring to. If you don't I'll insert a photo down below this text.

So as u already read, you can tell this will be about how much I respect Shindong.
Super Junior has been around since 2005 and has gone through lots as a group that I'm not gonna be talking about in this opinion, but you can look more into them if you want later.
As we know the entertainment industry is very strict about who they chose to debut and in particular outwards appearance or looks. Idols are supposed to have this "well proportioned body and have the Korean look" which by the way is absurd. I get it they want "perfect looking people", but seriously what is the definition of someone with good looks. Everyone is unique in their own ways and everyone is pretty/handsome (and before you answer Korea's standard of looks I'm well aware of their definition so please don't explain it to me cause I know it. Thanks).
Idols are supposed to look the way people want them to which again is really stupid but it unfortunately exists and I hate how society over there is focused on someone's appearance. It's horrible. So anyway, as you can kinda tell Shindong doesn't look like most idols who have "perfect proportions" and if you say that idols look just fine and are healthy then you might need a reality check because that doesn't explain why idols always faint and are exhausted (hint, it's from lack of sleep and nutrition that makes them tired so...).
Back to what I was saying about how "Shindong doesn't look like most idols you have probably seen", and honestly I support and respect Shindong for being in this heavily-look based industry. I mean to go out in the world in your natural body built self is AMAZING! I really respect Shindong from breaking the body stereotype in Korea and being super successful. I also understand that it's harder for some people to lose weight faster than others, but again I support Shindong. I think for him to debut and be super successful while he keeps his natural body type is very admirable and people need to bow down to Shindong for saying that it's ok to be you. You shouldn't need to switch your body type and shape for ANYONE. You should be doing it for you, and of course only if you want to do it and are comfortable doing it (or if you're not ready and love looking how you naturally look go ahead and be you. I support anyone who wants change or anyone who is themselves and loves being them. I'm in the middle and support both ends.).
There was also a recent article I read about Shindong wanting to lose weight because of health concerns from fans and from his own members. I really respect him for acknowledging everyone's concerns and the fact that he even wants to go through with it is also very admirable and should be supported. I appreciate Shindong so much and love that he is in the amazing industry and has been granted so much success. I will forever support what he does and who he is as a person. Shindong, the world and I are rooting for you❤️
