Just because one of the members writes some or all of the songs for the group doesn't mean they're automatically better than everyone else.
This one kind of goes hand and hand with my last one about underrated groups, but I think this also needs to be said. There are some people out there that think that if an idol writes some of the songs or all of the songs for their group that they are automatically better than every other member in the group which is literally one of the most aggravating things I think I have ever heard. I can always appreciate when a member or multiple members take part in writing and composing the songs, but that doesn't mean they are above everyone else magically. Every member brings their own unique flavor to the table and that's what makes a group a group because of all of the multiple personalities mixed together. I think it's very special when idols take part in writing and composing because the songs have a deeper meaning, but that shouldn't immediately over-shine the others in the group who have worked and are constantly working hard as well. Everyone is in a group for a reason and just because some or one of the members writes/composes songs doesn't mean they are better than everyone else in the group.
Opinion 60.5 (goes hand in hand with the one above): Just because a song has meaningful lyrics doesn't mean it's better than those without it.
I see lots of people saying that "only meaningful songs are good" or "meaningful songs are way better than something that doesn't have a meaning and is thrown together to be popular" which is so not true. I'll gladly admit that I can always appreciate if a song has a special meaning behind it, but I also will gladly admit that I like tons of songs that don't have a specific meaning and are just catchy. Truth be told...I don't care at all. If a song has a special meaning, great. If not, great. People need to realize that not all songs need to have special meanings. Personally, I think groups shouldn't always go for meaningful songs because then if they have too many that are supposed to be meaningful, none of them will hold that special title or place anymore. It's ok to throw in a couple here and there for b-sides or some title tracks can be very special but if groups do it all the time, then it takes away from the actual meaning and importance of the song. I think people need to realize that not every song should have a meaning and that songs are allowed to be created to be catchy and popular to fit in with a current trend or simply just because. Special meaning songs should not automatically be placed on thrones above all other songs just because there's a message behind it. Am I saying it's wrong to have a favorite song or a couple favorite songs that have meanings? No I'm not. I'm just asking you to consider the fact that even though a song may have a meaning doesn't mean it's better than others or you should force yourself to like it more even if you may not like the song because it has a special message.
