Chapter 20 - Countered and Striked

It's been a week since the choker fiasco. I apologised to the girls and had to do whatever they asked for a day. Darkness made me exercise with her. Aqua made me do basically everything for her while she lazed on the couch. Megumin made me take care of her and stick with her all day. YunYun made me play board games with her, I had a lot of fun with that. And Wiz made me work with her for the day.

So it's been an eventful week. But today...it feels off. I can't explain it, but it doesn't feel right. My party and I got back from an adventure not long ago.

"Hey. Does today feel off to you guys?"

Kazuma: "Sort of, my Enemy Sense has been going off like crazy today."

"Yeah. It's like I can sense some powerful individual..."

Suddenly the feeling felt different. It got stronger whenever I faced a certain direction.

"W-Wait. I think I know where they are."

YunYun: "How?"

"Whenever I face a certain direction...I believe the direction I'm facing leads to the front gate. Let me go warn Luna, you guys start heading there."

They nod and walk out of the guild. I go over to the counter and greet Luna.

Luna: "Welcome back (Y/N)! How was the quest?"

"Not too bad. But I think there may be an emergency."

Luna: "Hm? What is it?"

"I'm not sure, today feels off. But it's like I can sense power from an individual. And it seems like that power is approaching the town, the front gate, to be exact."

Luna: "Hmmmm. I do agree that today has felt a little weird. Do you think you could go check it out and quickly report back?"

"Yeah. I'll be back soon."

I use Volt and teleport to the front gate, just in time for my companions to arrive. In the distance, I can see someone walking towards the town but I can't tell.

"Hey Kazuma, use your Farsight skill. I think I see someone far in the distance, approaching."

Kazuma uses his skill. His eyes widen a bit.

Darkness: "What's wrong?"

Kazuma: "...It's a Demon King General. I've heard of him before, I believe his name was Skrim...?"

Megumin: "Skrim?! You mean the aggressive General who's literal strongest point is his fists?!"

Kazuma hesitantly nod his head. I use Volt and teleport in front of Luna, surprising her.

Luna: "Wow! That was fast. So what did you see?"

"Well according to Kazuma, it was the Demon King General, Skrim."

Luna gasped.

Luna: "O-Okay! Thanks for the report. Let me get everyone to the gate."

I teleport back to the gate as Luna's voice is heard throughout the town.

Luna: "Emergency! Emergency! The Demon King General, Skrim was seen approaching the town! Could all nearby adventurers rally at the front gate, immediately!"

It took a few minutes, but all nearby adventurers arrived at the front gate. By this time, Skrim was pretty close. He stopped a distance away. Skrim wore black leggings, no shoes, wore a black jacket but wasn't zipped up and no shirt. He was somewhat tanned and had black hair. His eyes were green coloured.

Skrim: "So...!"

His voice boomed, catching me off guard.

Skrim: "Which one of you pitiful adventurers is (Y/N)?!"
