Andi's POV
"I still can't believe they talked us into this." Cal chuckles, leaning over in his chair to talk close to my ear.
"It was fun." I roll my eyes at him.
"We literally got married the absolute easiest way possible and yet still ended up with a party of this magnitude to celebrate." He laughs.
My eyes looking out over the hall in front of us, filled with our friends and family who came to celebrate our marriage with us on our first anniversary. "I know you liked watching me come down the aisle, and having the big hoopla, even if it was a little crazy."
"A lot crazy. We talked about this, Ann, all I need in life is you, our three kids, and music."
"I know. But stuff like this is fun. And I promise, I won't make you do something like this again for a very long time." I smile, leaning over to kiss his cheek softly.
"You do look beautiful in that dress." He smiles, and I glance down at the white lace dress I have on.
"I feel beautiful in it." I smile, "Don't knock yourself though, Squish, you look amazing in that suit."
"Oh I know." He chuckles and I have to hold back the urge to reach up and mess his curls for his cockiness. His perfect dark curls, back to their natural color and a longer length after months and months of begging from his stubborn wife. He liked the ease of the buzz cut, but I convinced him in the end.
"Look." Cal nudges me nodding towards the table where the band is seated with our kids. I grin as I see what he's pointing out. Ashlyn asleep against Ashton's chest, having claimed her godfather as an early favorite in the last year. Ainsley is curled in Sierra's arms munching on some crackers or something, and Kason and Alena are laughing at Luke and Michael who seem to be putting on a show. Crystal is giving them glares, I'm assuming because they are disturbing Selena who is asleep in her arms. Their little girl a perfect replica of her parents. Michael's eyes, and not his hair, lucky girl won't be bald at twenty-five.
"We have suck good friends." I chuckle.
"Look at Ashton's hand." Cal laughs.
I turn back, searching some now.
Smiling softly when I see his hand is interlocked with Jane's."I told her it would work itself out." I chuckle, thinking about how freaked out she was about Ashton one year ago today.
"What would work itself out? Did you know they might actually become something?"
"Ash never told you?" I grin.
"Told me what?"
"Last year, in Nashville over the big weekend with the weddings and everything. Jane and Ashton accidentally got carried away, they slept together. Jane was losing her mind about it after the concert. I told her they would figure it out, and they have obviously."
"That's cute. Ya, I never heard a peep about it. Guess Ash already knew, just needed the timing to be right."
"Maybe. I have to admit, they are perfect for each other."
"I know."
"Hey," I grin, glancing around the room at everyone who is caught up in their own conversations. "I'm going to the bathroom, meet me outside the front doors in five minutes. I have something to show you." I grin.
"What?"
"Just do it. It's a surprise." I smile, collecting my skirt and slipping out of the room. Luckily not being stopped before sneaking out the front door and into the cool air of fall.
