Flash invited us to a party since his parents went out of the country for his birthday. It sucks really, how can you leave your own child for his birthday?
They went to Australia to celebrate his birthday but without him, how fucked up is that?
Anyways they did leave him a bunch of money and a credit card filled with it, but I know that Flash would want his parents present, even though he acts all tough saying he could care less about them leaving, joking that that was the best birthday present ever, I know it's not true. But I don't say anything and instead accept his invitation, deciding to bring Elijah as my plus one.
"Flash would it be okay if I bring a plus one?" I asked after he invited all of the decathlon time during one of our meetings.
"Yeah that's cool with me" Flash shrugged.
"You seriously can't live a day without Elijah?" Peter said bitterly from his seat next to Ned. Gwen wasn't here today because she had food poisoning.
"I like his company, it's not a felony Parker, chill the fuck out, it's nobody's fault your girlfriend got food poisoning" I said rolling my eyes angrily.
"Guy guys lets all calm down" Ned suggested lightly looking between the both of us.
Lately Peter has been really grumpy and snappy with me, always making snarky remarks and it's driving me crazy, I sometimes feel like smacking him with whatever book I'm reading that day.
"She got food poisoning from a dinner Mr. Stark put together for the interns in his company, but you wouldn't know because you got fired" Peter shot back and everyone's eyes widen in shock.
Me? Fired? Please! I only ever get hired?
"First of all, I didn't get fired, I quit, because I got another internship more suited for me in journalism, and second Parker, whoever I decide to bring to a party is none of your business, so I suggest you stay out of it" I said glaring at him.
A mere few seconds later, none other than Elijah himself walks through the doors greeting everyone with a warm smile.
"Hi guys!" He waved walking my way, unaware of the heated argument Peter and I were having.
"We're done for today guys, thanks for all the work and dedication, you're all doing great. Have a good day " I said getting up from my seat to meet Elijah's hazel eyes looking down at me.
"Hey you!" He said wrapping his arms around me in a bear hug placing his chin on top of my head.
I wrap my arms around his torso softly and hugged him back.
"Hi" I whispered back
"Are we still down for that Tea place you wanted to try out?" He asked.
"Yeah of course I'm so excited. Oh since you're leaving tomorrow to spend your birthday with your family, I bought you an early birthday gift" I said pulling a perfectly wrapped squared box from my bag.
"You didn't have to do that" he said softly giving me a grin.
"Open it" I encouraged.
After a few seconds of ripping through the wrapping he let out a small surprised gasp.
"You did not!" He exclaimed pulling it out.
"I did. I knew Tony Stark was doing that high tech geeky speech and I managed to get you tickets to go" I said, his face showing the biggest smile in the world making me really proud of my gift.
"Ho–How did you—they were sold out before they even went on sale!" He exclaimed.
"Well I was an intern for Pepper Potts, she's Tony Stark's wife, and I may or may not have ask her if she could get me tickets front row for the event" I said shrugging.
"Oh my—you're the fucking best M!" He said smiling widely while lifting me off the ground and hugging the living daylights out of me.
I giggle while smacking him playfully to let me down.
"THANK YOU THANK YOU!" He said grabbing my face in his big hand and kissing my cheek.
"You are very welcome, geeky genius" I said grinning.
"Geeky genius? I like it. I've been upgraded" he said laughing while draping his arm to hang loosely around my shoulder.
"You guys are going? Oh my gosh, Peter got us tickets to go too! That's so dope man" Ned said excitedly and my smile slightly dropped
Are you effing kidding me?
"That's awesome" I said looking at Ned giving him a soft smile.
"We should all go together" Ned suggested excitedly.
"I don't think they'll want that Ned, they might want to go alone" Peter said mockingly emphasizing the last word.
"Oh no man, it's all cool, the more of us the merrier. We could all be the geeky squad" Elijah encouraged patting Ned's back for support.
"I will exclude myself from this group, thank you very much" I said smiling slightly.
"Oh come on M. You're the genius one out of all of us, you have to be our fierce leader" he said grinning at me.
"Nah I think I'll pass. Thanks" I said grabbing his hand and shaking it in a professional manner.
"Pleasure doing business with you" I said playfully.
"For you, anytime!" He said winking at me.
"You guys always flirt like that?" Peter said his voice cold and distant.
"It's called friendship" I snapped.
"It's called flirting" Ned said wiggling his eyebrows.
"Ned!" I said glaring at him for agreeing with Parker.
"It's called humor" I stated firmly.
"It's called flirtatious humor" Elijah joined winking at me with a smirk.
"Oh shut up Eli or I'll smack that smirk off your pretty face!" I said threateningly a small grin playing on my lips.
"Aww thank you. I am pretty!" He said hugging me slightly.
"Whatever" I mumbled grabbing my book off the desk.
"See you losers later!" I waved walking away with Elijah by my side.
"See you at the party tonight!" Ned called while Peter mumbled some incoherent words at him.
"See ya!" I called out.
"I seriously fucking hate him, Ned." Peter said once we were a good distance away from them.
"Peter stop it, you always say that when you see them together" Ned let out a sigh.
"I'll stop saying it when I don't see them together" he said letting out an angry sigh.
"No, you'll stop saying it when Gwen is around" Ned said. I could hear the tone of his voice, one I know all too well. Ned Leeds was on protective brother mode. God I love my friend.
"Let's go. I need go check on Gwen and see if she'll want to come tonight" Parker said ignoring his comment.
"M?" I heard Elijah's soft voice said shaking me slightly.
"Hmm?" I said focusing my attention back on him.
"What tea do you want to try?" He asked again as we exited the school.
The walk there was 5 minutes and that's why I love it. It was close to school and it was the best place to read or talk.
"Oh I don't know, whatever drink there is" I said.
"I heard they are having heroes inspired drinks this week. They have Iron Man, Captain America, Black widow, Thor, the Hulk, Hawk eye, and the newest addition is Spider-Man. Well get two Spider-Man drinks yeah?" he said pulling me closer as we walked on the street.
"That's great, cant wait to taste it" I said faking excitement.
"Oh by the way, Flash invited me to his birthday party, are you going?" He asked.
"Yeah I am, I was actually gonna invite you, I didn't know he beat me to it" I said smiling at him.
"Oh well, I'll gladly be your plus one" he said smirking.
"Oh shut up before I regret my decision" I said. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash of blue and red jumping from building to building.
Wait? Was Peter following me?
"M? Look...over there! It's Spider-Man" Elijah pointed out excitedly.
"Oh my gosh, I can't see I forgot my glasses" I lied squinting my eyes pretending not to see him.
"M? It is just me or is he headed our way?" Elijah said said with an overwhelming amount of joy.
"Wh-what?" I stammer.
"He's like...looking at us...at you" he said excitedly.
"No-no way!" I said.
"Hey guys! How are you guys doing today" a familiar voice said landing in front of us in his iconic Spider-Man pose.
Could he be anymore extra...or predictable ?
"Hi-hi" Elijah said nervously.
Peter chuckled and greeted him again.
"We-we a-are doing great-t right M?" Elijah said nudging me while holding my hand. His hands were clammy. But I didn't pull away because it would be rude and he was nervous
"Yep. Actually we're trying to get pass you to get some tea and you're in our way" I said irritated at Peter's stupid game.
"M?! Excuse her she tend to get aggressive when she's nervous" he said eying me as if I was crazy for talking to him like that.
I guess I get it, since he doesn't know I know who the person beneath the the mask is or that I've even worn the mask before.
"It's okay everyone is different. You don't get star struck ever huh?" he asked me directly.
"Only with Tony Stark and since you're obviously not him" I said glaring at him and rolling my eyes.
"I'm Spider-Man! And you are?" Peter said stretching out his hand for Elijah to take.
"My name is um-Elijah" he said grabbing his hand.
"Nice to meet you and you are...?" Peter asked. I could literally feel his grin through the mask.
"Michelle" I said simply.
"Nice to meet you Michelle" he said.
"Well it's nice of you to stop by and mingle with citizens, but I'm sure you have an old lady to save somewhere, so we won't keep you from doing hero stuff. Let's go" I said tugging at Elijah's hand.
"Wait–can we–um–take a picture with you?" Elijah asked.
"Sure why not, I'm sure my old lady rescue mission can wait a few secs" he said as Elijah handed him his phone and tugged me so we could take a picture.
Elijah pulled me close to him and wrapped his arm around me and smiled towards the camera.
"Smile M! This is a once in a lifetime thing" Elijah whispered in my ear and I forced a smile.
"Have a good day you guys" Peter said.
"Thanks man, you too!" Elijah said scrolling through the pictures excitedly.
"Have a great date with your Spider-Man teas MJ" Peter whispered in my ear quickly while Elijah was too distracted with his iconic photo.
My jaw dropped, he was eavesdropping on us?
"Here you dropped this Michelle" he lied handing me my headphones once Elijah looked up from his phone.
And without another word he spun around and shot a web towards a building and he was gone.
I don't know what shocks me more, the fact that he was stalking me or the fact that he thinks I'm on a date?
What the actual fuck just happened?
