After my argument with Parker, I forced to watch tv and get ready for the party.
Ned came to pick me up with his mom and she dropped us off at Flash's house(or should I say mansion)
And to think he is practically the only one living there because his parents are always traveling.
Elijah was waiting for us upfront and I was approached I could see him talking to a girl and by the looks of it they were in a heated discussion.
So my random guess would be it's either his ex-girlfriend or some random chick who hates Spider-Man.
I'm sticking with the ex
Once Bed and I were in sight Elijah dropped his head defeatedly and walked away from a his ex mid-fight.
"Hey" i said softly approaching him.
"Hi" he said breathlessly.
"Are you okay man? Who is she?" Ned asked.
"That's Skyler. My ex" he clarified.
"Well she is feisty" Ned commented and I glared at him.
"What? It's true" he said putting his hands up defensively.
"Are you okay?" I asked him softly
"She wants to get back together but I don't know if I'm ready to let her back in" he confessed truthfully.
"That's my cue to go find Betty. See you guys later" he said walking away from us and giving us some space
"But you want to?" I asked cautiously
"Of course I do! I love her! I can't lie to you M, you know that. But I'm scared. Scared that if I let her in she'll just break my heart again" he said yanking his hair frustratedly
I grabbed his hands that were tightly wrapped around his hair.
"You won't that she will unless you give her a chance. If you love her and she loves you don't let fear keep you from getting something so beautiful" I said reassuringly.
"But what if I'm making the wrong choice?" He asked looking at me desperate for an answer.
"You won't know unless you make it and worse case scenario you'll learn from it and move on" I said patting his back.
"But—" he said
"No buts Elijah. Try it and if you don't like it. I'll beat her ass for you" I winked.
"I'm sure you will. Okay okay okay. I got this. I can do this" he said rubbing his hands in anticipation.
"I'm going in" he said looking at fear in his eyes.
"Good luck you nerdy genius" I said pushing him towards her.
"Thank you M. I owe you my love life. I'll see you later yeah?" He said kissing my cheek.
"Don't even worry about me E. I'll just hand with Ned. Have fun" I said
"Thank you. You're an angel" he said.
"Better be thankful. Flying down here was hard" I said smirking.
"Everyday" he said smiling before walking away.
My heart hurts a little as he walks away from me.
I just lost another person.
Elijah was the one person that didn't make me feel alone. The exact opposite actually. He made me feel wanted
But he deserve to be happy, even if I'm not happy.
I walked away from the pair that were wrapped in each other's arm.
Great now love is everywhere.
I found Betty and Ned sitting together after about 20 minutes. This mansion is like a maze.
"Hey guys" I waved as I sat down on the empty chair opposite of them.
"Hey MJ. Where is Elijah?" Ned asked.
"Talking things out with his ex" I shrugged.
"I'm guessing you put him up to it" Ned asked raising his right eyebrow.
"Not exactly. He wanted to talk. I just pushed him to grow some balls and do it" I said and Betty choked on her water
"Well that's an interesting choice of words" Betty said laughing awkwardly.
"Betty you've heard me say worse" I said laughing
"True. Remember when you were recovering from your injury. I went to visit you and you fell." She said laughing.
"That was the day your innocent ears heard from A-Z and you were corrupted" I said laughing.
" yep. A pretty traumatic experience" he said laughing.
"I'm so happy my best friend is best friend's with my girlfriend" Ned commented happily.
"Girlfriend?" I questioned with a small smile on my face.
"Ned! We agreed to wait a little longer to tell them" Betty said sternly
"Sorry I forgot" he said.
"Well finally. I thought I would have to force the words out of you" I said getting up and hugging them both.
"You guys are dating? Wow" I heard the annoying voice of Gwen say behind me.
"Yeah we are" Betty said rolling her eyes.
I'm not the only that doesn't like Gwen
"Congrats guys. You guys make a cute couple" she encourage
"Thanks Gwen it means a lot" Ned said trying to be nice.
"Not really" Betty whispered and it almost made burst out in hysteric laughter.
"Pet is running a little late. He went to get me a Gatorade he doesn't want me to dehydrate. He is such a caring boyfriend" he said sitting down in my chair.
"Actually that's MJ chair Gwen. Mind moving one seat over" Betty said.
"Didn't know chairs had owners" Gwen said bitterly.
"Well usually when people place their bags and personal belongings on a chair, it means they're occupying that space. Common human logic" Betty snapped and my eyes widen in shock.
I didn't know she had it in her! Super proud mom moment!
"Very well. There is no need to attack me me Betty. I didn't bite her arm off" Gwen said defensively.
"I'm not attacking you, I'm merely stating the facts" Betty said.
"Hey guys sorry I'm late I had to get Gwen a Ga—" Peter said.
"Gatorade yeah we know" Betty, Ned and I said simultaneously.
"Right. Here you go" he said handingGwen the drink.
"Where is your boyfriend?" Peter asked.
"He is talking things out with his girlfriend. Thanks for asking" I said giving him the fakest smile.
"Girlfriend?" He asked surprised.
"Yep" I said.
"And you're okay with that?" He asked.
"Of course I am" I said looking at him as if he was crazy for asking such a question.
"I thought you liked him" Peter said.
"That is none of your business" I said.
"I agree with her" Gwen cut in glaring at Peter.
"You and E were cute together" Betty said pouting.
"You guys were" Ned said.
"Come on guys, now that E and his ex are back together I don't want you guys making stupid remarks in front of her" I said glaring at Ned.
"Okay okay okay I'll behave but just know that in my heart your my OTP" Ned said.
"Yeah Yeah Yeah you've made that speech before. Guys I'm gonna head home my mom just texted me telling that I have to pick up my little brother from his friends house. I'll see you later" I said grabbing my coat and bag.
"MJ I need to talk to you before you go" Peter said while Gwen glares at him disapprovingly.
"Yeah sure what's up?" I asked blankly.
"Alone" he clarified.
"Okay well than walk with me. You can multitask right?" I said walking away from everybody while waving at them.
Once we were out of the house and out of Gwen's hearing range he pulled me aside.
"It's about Nick Fury... and you" Peter said hesitantly.
"I don't want to—" I said sternly.
"This-this is important MJ. It's about you. Something that he's kept hiding for a long time and  he's afraid that now that you have your memories back...that it will come back..." he said talking at lightning speed.
"Slow down you're not making any sense. What will come back? What does me getting my memory have to do with anything?" I asked.
"Something happened the day that SHIELD was attacked" He said.
"Go on" I pushed.
"Apparently in the attack the lab department had some major collateral damage" he said cautiously.
"Well obviously. Those bastards destroyed the place. I was there in the laboratory before my dad grabbed me and we began running. Hydra killed Kelly while she was trying to keep be safe from them. They ahoy her right in front of me" I said.
"Well your mind is repressing some memories. The day Hydra attacked you were exposed to certain experimental chemicals. After Fury had your memory wiped... a few weeks later you began showing side effects to the chemical you were expose to" he said and paused to look at me hesitantly once again.
"Keep talking Parker" I said my patience running low.
"Fury ran some tests on you and ummm... he...well he saw something..." he said eying me worriedly.
"What?" I asked glaring at him for taking so long to tell me a story.
Get to the damn point!
"The scans taking of your brain activity they were...different... almost abnormal" he said carefully.
"Spit it out!" I exclaimed the intense conversation driving me over the edge.
"MJ...Fury thinks you might have... powers..." he finished sighing heavily.
"Powers? Are you crazy?" I asked laughing loudly.
"Parker I don't have powers. Trust me I would know if I did don't you think?" I said chuckling at him.
"No MJ you don't understand. Those chemicals you were exposed too altered your brain waves or the-the brain chemicals and functions—I I don't know the medical terms but Fury had some scientists erase your memory and by repressing those memories it triggered your brain to go back to normal. To psychologically trick your brain to think that you were never expose to anything. By doing that it stopped you from developing whatever it was that you were expose too from growing. But now—" he said
"Now we need to get my brain scanned because if there's a chance that I have suppressed powers waiting to show up I want to know about it. Let's go Loser!" I said my mind racing with a million thoughts.
