CHAPTER 30: AWKWARD

(Nadine's POV)

"Nadine, napano ka? Okay ka lang ba?" Tanong ni Lawrence.

Medyo hinayaan ko ang ilang parte ng buhok ko na matakpan ang mukha ko ng sa gayon ay matakpan ang sugat ko sa pisngi.

"O-okay lang ako."

Nakayuko lang ako at hinablot ko lang ang bag ko na nasa mesa.

"Nadine, saan ka pupunta?" Tanong naman sa akin ni Carmela, kahit na nakayuko ako ay alam ko na siya 'yon.

"Secret!" Pinilit ko na pasiyahin ang pagsabi niyon at mabilis na akong naglakad na hindi lumilingon sapagkat naiiyak na ako.

Nang makalabas na ako ng building ay narinig ko na may isang pamilyar na boses ang tumatawag sa akin.

"Nadine! Nadine! Stop! Wait!"

Kahit 'di ko na gawin pang lumingon ay alam ko na si Vince yon. Nagpatuloy lang ako sa paglalakad hanggang sa magawa ko na makapag-para ng taxi.

"Manong...sa Square Circle po."

Sabi ko rito.

(Wayne's POV)

'Why are all the reports like this?'

I kept shaking my head in disbelief as I looked into the papers I have with me.

I sighed heavily.

Then I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in." I coldly said.

"Good afternoon sir. Someone at the reception area is looking for you and wants to talk to you."

"Who is it? Does that person and I have a schedule today?"

I asked seriously without looking at my personal assistant. Whoever that person is, I have to decline, hindi ako mahilig tumanggap ng bisita lalo kung wala naman sa schedule ko iyon, also, other than this messed-up papers that I have to read, I am scheduled to visit the other mall located in Ortigas.

"Well sir, she doesn't have any schedule to meet you, she just suddenly rushed in--"

'A female? Who would it be?'

"Who is she?" I asked while still scanning through the papers on my desk.

"Nadine Villego. She insists that you know her."

'Nadine? What is she doing here?'

Upon knowing that it was Nadine, it was the only time I raised my head and looked at my assistant, napansin ko na tila may pagkagulat sa mata nito nang tignan ko siya.

"Let her in."

"Yes sir."
