"Party time" I yell as I walk into Dylan's empty house. He's sitting on the couch, a confused look on his face.
"Hey, I didn't know you were coming over" he sits up, shutting off the TV.
"Ya Sorry, um there's a party tonight and we're going" I smile, he nods, but he looks confused.
"You want to go tonight?" He asks I nod vigorously.
"You sure you're okay, what happened with Kai?" He asks, I plop down beside him.
"I'm fine, we talked, we broke up and now I want to have some fun" I explain simply
"You guys are done?" He asks, I nod
"I'm sorry"
"It's okay, we'll be fine hopefully friends one day but for now we can have some fun" I say, he nods.
"Vi I need to tell you something" he says.
"If it's about Kai and me I don't want to hear it please, I just want to stop being sad" I say, he licks his lips.
"Okay so that party where is it?" He asks, I smile and pull him into a tight hug.
...
Dylan picks me up at 9 for the party. I decided to dress up tonight more so than usual. I'm wearing. Sheer cheetah print top with some black jeans and my boot heals. I hop into Dylan's car, placing my bag on the back seat.
"You look amazing" he smiles
"Thank you, you as well" I say, he blushes slightly pulling out of the driveway. The house party we're going to isn't too far out, so we're there in 10 minutes. The place is packed as per usual. There are people dancing everywhere, couples making out and groups of people chugging beers. We shove past them and head to the drink table. I spot Kalani right away. We haven't talked much, but I miss her. I rush towards her pulling her into a tight hug.
"Hey" she cheers hugging me back tightly.
"No hard feelings?" I ask
"Of course, I missed you bitch" she smiles
"Hey" I wave at Jackson, he waves back. Dylan hands me a cup filled with clear liquid. I down the glass, relishing in the deep burn it leaves in my throat. I pour myself another cup and downing that one as well. I notice Kalani staring.
"Wanna take a shot with me?" I ask, she nods a bit apprehensively I shake it off pouring us some tequila shots. I float around the party, playing beer pong and some other drinking games. I can feel the liquor coating my body more and more with every drink. My heads fuzzy and I feel like I'm floating. Dylan guide me outside, where Kalani and Jackson are waiting. I plop down on a lawn chair, my body swaying.
"You okay?" Kalani asks
"Fucking amazing" I giggle her face swirling around me.
"Drink up" Dylan hands me a water bottle, I take it. I notice Kalani whispering to Dylan looking over at me every once in a while. I know she's wondering why I'm acting like this, they all are.
"I just want to have fun K" I blurt, she looks at me confused.
"I'm just having fun, why can't I get wasted?" I slur. My eyes flutter open and closed and I yawn loudly.
"You can if you want" she assures but I know she's worried.
"I'm good, I'll drink some water" I assure. I lay back looking up at the stars. I hug the water bottle to my chest, a cool breeze passing over me. I close my eyes as a wave of nausea hits me.
"I'll carry her" I hear before I pass out.
...
My mouth is very dry when I wake up. My tongue feels like sandpaper. I sit up too fast and the room around me spins wildly. I reach out trying to hold onto the end. I touch a naked chest. I turn and find Dylan sound asleep beside me. My stomach swirls and the room spins again. I close my eyes breathing deeply through my nose. I try to stand and instantly regret it. My legs feel like jello, and my bones ache. I rush to the bathroom holding onto the walls for support. I splash cold water on my pale face. I brush my teeth quickly my mouth tastes disgusting, it's making me feel even more nauseous. I walk slowly to the kitchen, in desperate need of water. Thankfully my aunt and uncle aren't up yet, so I don't have to explain my haggard appearance. I chug a glass of water, my stomach instantly thanking me. I walk back to my room with a jug of water, and some crackers for later. Dylan is still sound asleep, his snores fill the room. I lay back down beside him, taking small sips of my water. I notice how peaceful he looks while he sleeps, his usual creased forehead is smooth. Without Dylan I don't think I'd have made it through this. I reach out running my hand across his forehead. He doesn't flinch, but he does seem to shift closer to me. A weird sense of Déjà-Vu hits me. Another blurry imagine floats over me but I shake it off. I grab my phone then, deciding I won't be able to lull myself back to sleep again. I scroll through Instagram. My stomach drops when I see a picture of Kai. He's in his diner uniform laughing wildly. My skin burns, Riley Sanderson posted the photo. Her caption reads, newly single, smiley face. My heart leaps into my throat the cracker I was chewing on gets stuck. I drop my phone, it bounces slightly off the bed. I sit up, leaning against the headboard. Anger seeps through me, as the picture burns bright in my head. I feel the bed shift, and Dylan's sitting up rubbing his eyes.
"Morning" he smiles his voice raspy with sleep.
"Hey" I say, my voice wobbly.
"What's wrong?" He asks, I show him the picture, his jaw drops.
"Seriously" he says, that just confirms how bad it is.
"We just broke up" I say, not wanting to cry.
"He's being a dick"
"Why, I didn't do anything to him!" I yell my anger back.
"He's sad about losing you and he's acting out" he explains, I laugh bitterly.
"Well two can play at that game" I smirk angrily
