Older Sibling (Part 1)

Federico Auditore x Reader

A/n: This is a two-part shot, A little sad, gang fight,

Time to put the other characters in the what-if book and this story is separated from the original what if story :) Enjoy!

The sky gleams through the beautiful city of Florence, the light bounces off from the Arno river. Crowd roams around the streets and the Duomo shows above the rooftops, thieves across the rooftops admires the beauty of the Cathedral. Two groups confront each other at the Ponte Vecchio, a famous bridge where stalls sell their silk and spices imported from other countries.

A young fellow like yourself joined in the fight against them, a strong rivalry between two families. The Pazzi and The Auditore, you heard those names before. You were one of the allies of the Auditore, you wore the same clothes as he does but a dash of formality in it. There comes a young man, steps in front of his gang, you look at him; You see him, Ezio Auditore Da Firenze! Smiling at his determined expression looking at his allies, raising his fist in the air, "Insieme per la Vittoria!" He shouts.

You scream with the others "Insieme! Insieme! (Together! Together!)"

"Silenzio, my friends. Silenzio." He said as the cheered died down for a while, waiting for his speech. Then you listen, " Do you know what brings us here tonight? Honor. Vieri de' Pazzi slanders my family's name and forces for his own miseries upon us. If we-" before he could continue his speech, you saw a rock flying and landed across him. You saw another group on the other side of the bridge then you see his archenemy, Vieri de Pazzi.

"Enough of your nonsense, Grullo!" He shouted at Ezio. He greeted at Vieri, "Buona Sera Vieri, we were just talking about you. I thought Pazzi was hired to do their dirty work," he said. Vieri points at him, "It was your family who cries for guards when there's trouble. Codardo! (Coward!) Afraid to handle things yourself?" He taunted but Ezio gave a smirk look on his face and taunting him back, "Your sister seems quite satisfied with the 'handling' I gave her earlier," You laugh with the others while Vieri is furious and yelled to his men, "Uccidetelo! (Kill him!)" They charge to Ezio's group while the others including Vieri threw rocks at them, you notice there's a rock coming towards Ezio.

"Messer Ezio! Look out!" You warned, he looks up and he couldn't avoid it. The rock hit his lip and blood smeared on the side, you saw it as trouble then your face contorted with anger and charge at them. Everyone followed you while Ezio is still holding his stingy lip then he saw you fighting with the Vieri's henchmen, he looked impressed by what he sees but you were concentrating on the fight then you took your first hit. Ezio runs towards the fight and puts up with some punches on two guys, you continue punching and helping others.

You see around you few of Ezio's comrades are knocked out by Vieri's men and you see Vieri, he still has more men, "Hey behind you!" You heard a mysterious voice coming from behind, you glance then you look again. You see another man, happy to see Ezio fighting? "They seem to know each other, did he call for help?" You thought you were almost been punched by the enemy, you beat him down while you heard a few conversations from them, "I want to see if baby brother still knows how to fight, " said the other one. "Baby brother? Is that- Ezio's older brother?" You said while you punch the last one of Vieri's men. However, there are more of them you were ready but you felt exhaustion coming into your body then you felt a hand on your shoulder as you look up it's Ezio's older brother.

His smile of determination gives you a boost of fighting again, "Let's see if you two can beat them before they get the best of you," he said. You put up your fighting face and three of you charge while the enemies did the same, this time you take them down real hard than before. As soon as Ezio took the last ones, Vieri De Pazzi waves his arms shouting at his men "Fall back! Fall back!" He commanded. The Pazzi gang retreated as you and the others cheered for victory, however, Ezio was about to follow them but his older brother stopped him. "Woah there!" He said. "What? We almost won this!" Ezio exclaimed pointing at the group, his brother noticed the wound on Ezio's lip.

"Your lip,"

You bid goodbye to your fellow comrades and you approach the Fratelli Auditore, Ezio touch his lip and saw a few drops of blood on his fingertips. "Just a scratch," he shrugs.

"Let the doctor decide that Messer Ezio," you told him in a concerned tone, the older brother looks at you and pats you on the back. "Grazie (Thank you) for helping my baby brother and me from the fight, you have skills the same as Ezio." He gestures to him, you bowed to his bubbly formality "I never got your name messer-" he bows and introduces himself, "Federico Auditore. A pleasure to meet you,"

"Y/n l/n, to you as well Messer Federico."

Federico looks at his brother, "Now, Ezio. Let's go to the doctor to fix your lip." He told him, Ezio spat "I got no time for that besides, I have no money to spend to this doctor of yours," he said ruefully. "Lend me some florins then or you did the same?" You look at him with confusion, what does he mean 'did the same'? You wonder. They both laugh and Federico looks at the fallen enemies, "Search them. There's probably a few florins in their pockets," Federico suggested. To your surprise, you never saw Ezio doing scavenging and getting florins from their pockets. You glance at Federico waiting for Ezio to be finished picking out the coins, you assumed that only thieves can do that.

"I thought buccaneers can only do those," you said. Federico turns his head to you, "Well, our father taught that trick to us when we were small. Just a small amount and we're good," he stated. You stare at him in disbelief, he saw your reaction making him laugh and gently pat your back. "Don't worry, only it's necessary like going to the doctor." That sentence made you feel relief, Ezio just finished picking up some florins. "That's enough for now, let's move quickly," Federico turns to you. "Come with us, it's not far from here." He told you. You nodded and three of you took off and climbing to the rooftops, you followed them and took a shortcut. You were glad that Ezio taught you how to parkour, you were able to keep up with them. Your mind wandered while you follow them, you question yourself "what's it like to have a brother like Messer Federico?".

The three of you arrive at the doctor, he was busy cleaning his table until the doctor saw you and the Fratelli Auditore. "The Fratelli Auditore, why am I not surprised," He sounds like he's not amused behind his mask. The doctor checks Ezio's face and notices instantly the wounds, "You made yourself quite a mess young man," you can't help but agree with the doctor. "It's nothing really," said Ezio. You look at Federico putting his hands together, "You must help him, that pretty face is his only asset," he playfully teases Ezio which made him curse at his older brother. "Fottiti!" You silently snickered behind your leader and the doctor proceeds to dab some clear ointment medicine on Ezio.

While Ezio is still putting some treatment you stare at Federico for a minute, "He really does look like a big brother," you mumbled. You looked away when Federico turns his head to you, "You're wondering, aren't you?" You gulped a bit and nodded once before you at Federico. "What are you thinking about?" He chuckled, you look down the feeling of existing being an elder sibling but couldn't get off the wonder of having an older sibling like Federico. He looked concern to see you sad, "What's wrong Amico mio?" He asked, " What it is like to have an Older Sibling?"

Federico can't say anything about it but the question made him feel ashamed to show up on someone who doesn't have an older sibling. "Perhaps you should ask Ezio about it, maybe he can answer it for you." He said, you nodded and didn't say anything. The doctor finished fixing Ezio's face, you can see the stitches in it. Both of them thank the doctor, Ezio realizes that you are not there anymore. Federico looked around the area but you're nowhere to be found, then his expression turns to guilt. He can hide it behind his humorous face but he wasn't able to answer to you.

The Fratelli Auditore took off for a race and you see them going head to head to the roof of the church. You come out from the haystack where Ezio taught you where to hide from your enemies, you sat down on the bench in the shadows as the moon shines above the Duomo, you look to the night sky.

"I wish I have an Older Sibling like Messer Federico,"
