Merry, Early, Happy Whatever....Merry Christmas, I decided to hit you with a twofer today as an early Christmas gift. I split these last two chapters into multiple parts because it was getting to be like 5,000 words. Anyway, if I'm feeling generous later tonight I'll upload the third part.
ENJOY and thanks for reading!
Much Love,

Pulling up to Robin's house, Stevie is eagerly bouncing up and down.
"STEVIE!" A woman squeals as Lindsey jumps about a half a mile in the air.
"OH ROBIN!" Stevie cries running into her best friend's arms.
"You look positively skinny." Robin smiles.
"And you don't look a day older." Stevie beams.
"Liar." She states.
"Robin this is my husband Lindsey." Stevie introduces them.
"It's so nice to meet you." Robin cheers hugging Lindsey around the neck, he couldn't reciprocate with the bags on both of his arms.
"Stevie." Kim comes out.
"Hi, Kim." Stevie grins.
"Hi, Aunt Stevie." Matthew waves from the porch.
"Oh Matthew, you're getting so big. You have to be about fifteen right about now." She grins going over and hugging him.
"Not for a couple more weeks but yeah, I guess you could say that." Matthew nods.

Later that night, Robin and Stevie were laughing in the living room drinking wine and Lindsey and Kim were awkwardly at the bar watching them. All of a sudden everyone was on high alert as the telephone rang.
Robin answered it slightly tipsy and then she dropped the phone.
"We have to go to the police." Robin and everyone else sober up immediately.
"Why?" Stevie asks.
"That was Kim's brother-in-law, his sister Jackie, she was just arrested for murder," Robin explains.
"Dammit." Kim slams his hand down and makes his way to grab his car keys.
"Kim, wait for us we have to put our clothes back on," Robin calls as Stevie just gives Lindsey a look. He suddenly knew that he wasn't going to get a vacation after all.
***
"What happened?" Kim asks when they get there.
"The police think she killed her marketing partner, Peter. And our attorney's are out of town. I'm Wilson Johnson, Kim's Brother in law, Robin says that you're a lawyer. Would you sit in and be council?" He asks.
"Of course, we both will I'm Stephanie Buckingham and this is my husband Lindsey Buckingham." Stevie points.
"No way...like the Lindsey Buckingham, the man who got that TV host off a few years back. He's...you're legendary." Wilson replies.
"I'm flattered." Lindsey smiles as they go in.

"Mrs. Johnson, is this your makeup bag?" The police officer asks.
"Yes, it is." She nods.
"So it is your bag then. Can you recognize these contents."
"Yes."
"Detective Stone, this makeup kit is hardly sufficient grounds for inditement no matter who it belongs to." Stevie cuts him off.
"Mr. Briggs was in the process of filing a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against your client and there was an eye witness." The detective looks at her.
"What?" Lindsey asks.
"That's impossible," Jackie replies.
"A neighbor of the victim saw your car leaving the murder scene at exactly 6:30." He sighs.
"I was..."
"M...may we speak to Mrs. Johnson alone for a moment please?" Stevie questions cutting the distraught woman off.
"Be my guest." He gets up and leaves.
"What's happening." She cries into her hands.
"Jackie, it'll be okay, we'll figure this out." Stevie sighed.
"I left that makeup kit at Peter's last night we were going over samples of my new line. Stevie, I didn't kill him. I wasn't there tonight." She shakes her head.
"Obviously the neighbor was mistaken but I'm afraid that's enough to file murder charges." Stevie states.
"Stevie, what will I do...will you represent me?" She questions.
"I'm a prosecuting attorney, I won't be good for you. But luckily I married one of the best defense lawyers on the west coast."
"Really, are you the best?" She looks up to Lindsey.
"So they tell me. I've maybe only lost six times at most.." Lindsey trails off.
"Oh thank you so much." She cheers.
"We'll figure this out." Lindsey nods.

Wilson meets them back at Kim and Robin's house and Lindsey starts scratching his neck.
"So I need...I need a backstory. All we know is that this guy's dead and she's the main culprit. What would've sparked it." Lindsey sighs.
"Well, she has a makeup line." Wilson starts.
"Yeah, we discussed that." Lindsey nods.
"We had a board meeting yesterday. The products aren't selling the best. I don't know if it's the price of them or what, and then to top that off we've had complaints about people reacting badly to what we use in the makeup. Peter was our main investor, he had been telling us to use some herb or something in the products to make it last longer and that's what's been coming up as a catalyst to the reactions people are having. So we refused to put it in the products but he was demanding that we did it or else he'd pull funding. Jackie fired him, a few days later. Now he's slapping us with a multimillion-dollar lawsuit for compensation and backing out of contracts and it's a giant mess. Kim handles our money and the only ones in the board room where Me, Kim, Jackie, Peter, and a few other employees Matthew Blake, and Andy Whitman" Wilson explains.
"Jackie was married to Peter before she married me, we've only been married since October," Wilson adds after a moment.
"So..." Lindsey trails off.
"They don't have any kids and he was abusive to her and I guess he has blackmail materials of her he's threatening to release if we don't cooperate with his suit. Jackie's kind of famous here in Phoenix." Kim sighs.
"Alright...I'll fly John out here." Lindsey groans going over to the phone.
"But why...Lindsey, I'm apart of this family, Robin and I are practically sisters and I want to stay close to this case." Stevie whines going over to him.
"Honey, I'm worried that your personal feelings are going to complicate things." Lindsey leans back against the counter.
"I promise it won't. Honestly. Please, Lindsey...I'm a lawyer I can use my skills and everything." Stevie shakes her head.
"Alright, but you need to be careful." Lindsey gives him.
"Thank You." She whispers wrapping her arms around his neck and encompassing him in a passionate kiss.
