A few weeks after the Wrestler case, Stevie was walking down the steps of the courthouse trying to get her head out of the case she was working on. She found it better in her slowly increasing age to focus in on what she's doing before she does it and only thinks about that. But when it's over she has to pull herself out of it.

"Hey, Steph!" LIndsey calls and breaks her thoughts. Though she internally whines, she's on her way to a meeting, she stops and turns to him.

"Guess what these are?"

"Uh, Tickets..." She states.

"And their names are Sheryl and Crow." Lindsey states.

"Sheryl Crow, oh Lindey I'm a huge fan of her." Stevie smiles.

"I know. That's why I got them." He grins, "We'll leave around 6:15 because the show starts at eight and I'm going to take you out to dinner first." Lindsey grins.

"Tonight?" She asks.

"Well yeah, it's Friday." He states.

"Oh, Lindsey I have a dinner meeting with Tom tonight." She shakes her head.

"You didn't tell me that." Lindsey pouts.

"I'm sorry I just found out yesterday, he's appointing a new District Attorney and he wants me to be the one that he shadows for awhile. We're going to talk logistics tonight.  I was going to call you later." She shakes her head.

"Well, what am I going to do about these?" He asks.

"Take Lily, or give them to Kate and have her take Lily." Stevie sighs.

"I guess." he shoves them in his pocket.

"Steven Williams was found shot to death in his house this morning. Did you see that?" She asks as they walk towards the doors together.

"I didn't read the paper this morning, I was too busy getting these. Have you been assigned?"

"Yeah, apparently he was in the middle of writing a book about Vanessa Doucette."

"Vanessa Douglas is a suspect?"

"Yeah, the police have taken her in for questioning. Evidently the book was largely concerned with her marriage to the mayor and the prevailing theory is that Williams got to know the real Vanessa and was going to portray her as something considerably less than a saint."

"I see."

"They have a witness too."

"Good."

"Do you know who Linda John is?"

"No."

"She's the one that does that TV interview show. She says she saw Vanessa enter Williams' house that night around the time of the murder. I was just on my way to talk to her, I better get going."

As Lindsey was walking away dejectedly a woman about age forty walks up to him.

"Mr. Buckingham?" She asks.

"Yes, Ma'am." He answers.

"I'm Dr. Janel Burner I need to talk to you now if it's alright."

"Well, I've got a nice office, air-conditioned and everything, it is an oddly hot May in California you know."

"I'm chief of staff at Cedars-Sinai, I've got to get back there at 10:30 for a meeting."

"Well if that's the case Doctor, you better talk fast." Lindsey sighs looking at her.
