January 18

Stevie was 25 weeks along, Cory had moved in officially, to an extent. She still had to live on campus but she had a bedroom made up at her aunt and uncles. A nursery was established, and the kids were getting antsy. They wanted to meet the new baby so badly. Stevie and Lindsey opted out of finding out the gender, and Kate was thrilled when they allowed her to help design the nursery.

The walls were painted a crisp snow white, there was a black wooden crib and a black armchair. The carpet was black and white chevron and there were little black and white knick-knacks sprawled throughout the room.  It was simple and elegant.

Stevie and Lindsey still weren't on the best of terms. She hadn't totally forgiven him for the comments made at Christmas and they were walking on eggshells around each other.

Stevie leaned back in her desk and rubbed her belly. The clock on her computer was glaring eleven-thirty and she let out a huff. She pulled her hair out of the expert french twist she had put it in and slid her feet back into the shoes under her desk. Her ankles were swelling, but she refused to wear anything other than her high heels at work.

She eased herself out of her chair and grabbed the emerald green blazer from the back of her chair. She shrugged it over her black tight-fitting dress and made her way out to the car.

When she walked into the interrogation room her mouth fell open and she looked between Lieutenant Scott and Lindsey who was slouched against the wall. Twins were staring right back at her.

"Larry left a message on my answering machine, that said the police were taking him in for questioning, so I got down here as fast as I could." The one on the right, Gary, said.

"Are you a doctor also?" Stevie asks writing in her notebook.

"No ma'am, I own a tune-up shop. I fix cars." Gary answers.

Stevie turns her attention to Larry, "And did you know Dr. Weston?"

"Yes, of course." Larry nods.

"Ugh, did you mean to ask Gary that question?" Lindsey points to the one on the left.

"Oh, you're Gary? I'm sorry. Pregnancy brain." Stevie makes an excuse.

"It's okay, very few people can tell us apart." Gary smiles.

"I see, um...when did you arrive at the Physician Association Meeting last night?" Larry was a plastic surgeon.

"I wasn't there." Gary shakes his head.

Stevie looks over at Lindsey and then sighs. "Alright, Dr. Clow could you please stand up?"

"Thank You." Stevie nods when the doctor does rise.

"Now, Gary, did you know the victim Dr. Walton?"

"Well, I...I no, not really,"

"Where were you from 7-8 last night?" Stevie asks, her hand falling to her stomach as the baby gives a hard kick, almost like they were telling her something.

"I was in my office at the shop with one of my suppliers."

"Thank You, Now...Larry, where were you from 7-8  last night?"

"I was having drinks at the bar in the Americano Hotel."

"Your nurse told the police that she overheard an argument between you and Dr. Walton the night before the murder. Something  concerning the break up of your partnership."
