Lily was a month shy of a year old and sitting in her highchair. Lindsey had decided to take two weeks off to just decompress and spend time with the kids, especially because they were on Spring Break. So while Stevie was getting ready for work, Lindsey was feeding her breakfast. Lily was munching on her oatmeal happily and Stevie walked into the kitchen to grab her coffee and kissed both of them goodbye.
"Good Morning Mrs. Buckingham." A man she works with waves as he walks by.
"Hi." Stevie smiles going to unlock her office.
"Stevie, I have been looking everywhere for you. You've got to get a phone in your car." Tom comes up behind her.
"That's the only place where I get a little peace between four kids, my job, my dog, and my husband," Stevie smirks opening her office door. "What's the rush?"
"The Lucy Lylle Murder. You haven't heard about it?" Tom asks.
"No." Stevie shakes her head.
"Don't you have a radio in your car either?" Tom asks, "It's a great case. Murder by mistake. He was trying to kill his wife Juanita Boyer. The erotic novel writer."
"Tom, I know Joe Walsh."
"Great, you've already gotten a head start on the case. I handled the plea and arraignment it's all in there." Tom points.
"But I can't prosecute him. He's my ex-boyfriend." Stevie sighs.
"Well good you've still got to be mad about him for something use that to your advantage." Tom points.
"Tom I don't feel comfortable prosecuting him. I seriously considered marrying that man." Stevie places the file on her desk.
"Well fine, handle it until Thursday and then I'll have Dave Hawkman take over. That's when his current trial will be over." Tom walks out.

Sitting in the police station she has a sickening feeling in her stomach.
"Stevie Nicks." Joe smiles walking in.
"Hi, Joe." She smiles as he goes to hug her.
"You're here in your official capacity aren't you?"
"No, I'm here as a friend," Stevie says as they go to sit down.
"That means a lot. Especially after how we ended things." Joe looks down sadly.
"You'll always be my friend Joe. You helped me when I needed you the most. Mick was horrible to me and you just made me better. And besides, I know you're not a murderer. But I can't discuss the case. I just came to check on you and see if you're alright." Stevie smiles.
"All I did was pick up her allergy pills. I had no idea there was anything wrong with them." Joe stands up and starts pacing. A clear sign that Stevie knows well. He's agitated.
"You really shouldn't talk about this without your lawyer's consent." Stevie shakes her head.
"My lawyer, he says it's transferred intent, simply because she is a famous author and she has a giant insurance policy on her. I mean mines bigger because I'm slightly more famous, but he still wants me to plead guilty for a lower charge of manslaughter." Joe states.
"Who's your lawyer?" Stevie asks in disgust.
"Malcolm Johnson. What I need is a Criminal Lawyer, is there anyone you'd recommend?"
"My husband. Lindsey Buckingham. He's on vacation for two weeks but I'll go home and talk to him and I'll make sure he defends you."
