Lindsey doesn't dress up to visit crime scenes. But something was pulling him, especially for this case. The prospect of seeing Stephanie was driving him. When he pulled up to the estate, Christine and her husband John, who just so happens to be Lindsey's private investigator, gawked at him.
"You never dress up to go to crime scenes," John announces.
"I just wanted too...is that a problem?" Lindsey pouts.
"Not at all Lindsey. I think you look really nice." Christine smiles.
"Well thank you." Lindsey grins.
"I think someone has a crush, I haven't seen you smile like that since you were with Kristen." John points out.
"Let's not bring my ex-wife into this," Lindsey growls heading into the house.

While examining a lockbox, a shrill voice calls out.
"Burglar." Lindsey jumps a mile.
"Stephanie, don't do that. You about gave me a heart attack." Lindsey whines.
"Stephanie, are we friends now or are you being charming because I caught you." Stevie walks towards him and his breath catches when she fixes his tie.
"Mary-Anne gave me the combination. Jack Christopher gave her the combo, said they were the only two who knew it. The ring was supposedly in here and he sent her to get it. If it works, we know it's a true statement." Lindsey explains.
"Alright...7 left...30 right...20 left." Stephanie reads.
It opens and they pull out a box. As they were examining the box, the housekeeper saunters in.
"Ms. Nicks, are you from the DA office?" She questions.
"I am, yes." Stephanie nods.
"Mr. Christopher gave me this a few days before he died. I think it belongs in the hands of the state now." She explains.
With a swipe of her fingernail, she opens it, scans it, and turns to Lindsey.
"It's a handwritten will." She breathes out.
"Let me guess, he left everything to Mary-Anne?" Lindsey crosses his arms.
"And a quarter of a million dollars," Stephanie adds.

By day three in court, Lindsey wasn't happy. He can normally have a case locked and figured out in 48 hours. Stephanie was good though.
"No further questions." Stephanie ends.
"Mr. Coleborn, you say that you saw my client go into the house about five minutes before Mr. Christopher died. Is that right?"
"Yes." The butler nods.
"And you were in your apartment off of the kitchen," Lindsey adds.
"Yes, I saw someone come up the driveway and enter the house."
"Pretty dark right."
"I would say so yes."
"I'll tell you what, I went to your apartment, sat in your chair and turned the TV on, you know what I saw?"
"Objection, Mr. Buckingham is not testifying, but if he would like to sworn in, I'd be happy to cross-examine him." Stevie taps her fingernails on the wooden table.
"Sustained." The judge bellows.
"Mr. Colborn, you saw the outline of a woman wearing a raincoat and scarf similar to the ones owned by my client so you assumed the outline was hers."
