Stevie was finally at 28 weeks and she only had one more case left before she went on Maternity leave. She was dreading it because she can't sit around the house and do nothing all day, it makes her nuts, but she looked forward to having her sweet little baby in her arms.

Her back had been bothering her, and she had finally settled down for the night when the telephone rang, it was around two in the morning and though it wasn't the first time, they got a call like this, it was dreadfully unwanted.

"Stephanie Buckingham, how can I help you?" She answers. Rubbing the bottom of her super stretched belly.

"He Steve's it's Tom. I need you to be at the precinct in an hour, you'll be meeting Carol Ann Harris there. I don't want you to directly take this case, let her take it because she will be covering for you until July, but be there for guidance." Tom directs.

"Yeah sure." Stevie nods hanging up and changing into a black maxi skirt and a seafoam green teeshirt, a black shawl draped over her shoulders.

Carol and Stevie were waiting with him and Lieutenant Scott, the whole time, the defendant was moaning and groaning. "For the umpteenth time, I didn't kill anybody. I was driving back from a golf tournament in San Francisco and I sure as hell didn't shoot anybody tonight and that's all I'm going to say until my lawyer gets here."

Stevie sips the piping cup of tea in her hand and rolls her eyes. Carol is standing and waiting notepad ready when the door swings open.

"Well,  speak of the devil. What the hell took you so long?"

"It's the middle of the night, Elliot I have three young kids to take care of and when I woke up to come here my wife was gone. So I had to wake up my niece and inform her about what was going on, wait for her to get to my house and then I had to put pants on." Lindsey complains pointing to Stevie.

"Lindsey, this Carol Ann Harris, she's the new deputy DA, but she's starting out covering for me when I go on maternity leave. She's handling this case for me. Carol this is my husband Lindsey Buckingham." Stevie introduces.

"Mr. Buckingham, I can't tell you what an honor this is, I've always thought that your defense in the people vs Bakerman was one of the most brilliantly constructed and argued cases of its time." She coos.

Lindsey just scrunches his eyebrows. "People Vs. Bakerman was one of my first cases ever in 1976, You had to be in diapers." Lindsey states.

"I've read every case you've done. I did my junior thesis on you." She blushes.

"Hey, Hey what is this, happy hour. Cut the crapola and get me out of here." Elliot growls.

"Can, I speak to my client alone please?" Lindsey asks.

"We'll be in my office, just wave when you're ready." the officer nods.

When they were safely tucked in the office, Carol Ann turns to Stevie. "I can't believe I'm going against your husband. And I can't believe that your husband is actually Lindsey Buckingham, and you didn't tell me."

"I didn't think it was important." Stevie shrugs.

Carol just gives her a look and Stevie sighs plopping in the chair across from Lieutenant Scott and lays her head in the crook of her arms.

Walking into Court for the first time Carol was a wreck. "I can't believe I'm going up against Lindsey Buckingham."

"I know what you mean, butterflies the size of basketballs." Stevie grins.

"Come on, Uncle Lindsey isn't that bad." Cory appears next to her aunt.
