Lily had accompanied her father on trials and hearings and visits for her entire summer. She didn't want to be a lawyer she wanted do be a Legal Career Counselor. But she had a hunch that she'd shift and enter law as well. Maybe even teach law. This is why, when it came to her senior year of high school she decided to take an AP Government class which led to now, climbing off of the school bus infront of the County Court House. It was October and, they had been invited to sit in on a Murder Trial. A government murder trial but that's all they knew about it.  The AP Gov kids were thrilled because that meant they got off of school Scott-free until the Trial was over.

"Welcome, I'm the head District Attorney Tom Petty, it's nice to see you all. I'm thrilled that you were all able to come." Tom announces when they walk into the lobby of the courthouse.

"Thank you for having us." Mr. LeFave, the teacher grins.

"So I'll give you a verbal tour of the courthouse... the first floor is billing and staff mailboxes a concession stand, a little reception area but we don't really use this floor.  The second and third floors are filled with courtrooms. The second floor is filled with eight smaller courtrooms, dealing with family court, probation hearings, such things like that. Third Floor has four giant courtrooms we'll be upstairs on floor three today. The fourth floor is offices. So let's go up there and maybe we can meet some prosecuting attorney." Tom leads them up the stairs.

Arriving upstairs, Lily tries to hide her face as much as possible.

"Well look who it is...Everyone this is District Attorney Stephanie Buckingham. You'll be sitting in on her case today." Tom smiles

"Hello," Stevie smiles.

"Stevie, I didn't realize you were a lawyer." Terra, Lily's best friend states.

"How long have you known me?" Stevie crosses her arms.

"I don't know like 13 years. I know Lily's sister is becoming a lawyer." Terra shrugs.

"Lily, is this your mom?" Mr. LeFave questions.

"I was trying to fly under the radar...but yes," Lily admits from her spot next to Mr. LeFave.

"Steph, we've gotta get moving." Jimmy comes to her handing her the files.

"Yes, right...I'll see you all downstairs." Stevie smiles going to the elevator.

They were following Stevie down the hallway like a pack of seagulls when Lindsey comes running over.

"FIRST DEGREE MURDER YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR MIND!" He yells at her.

"We have a very strong case. I take it he hired you." Stevie crosses her arms as the whole mob of people stop in the middle of the hallway and Lily again tries to hide her face.

"YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO CONVINCE A JURY THAT RON WHITEMAN'S DEATH WAS PREMEDDIATED BY A STATE SENATOR."

"I know,"

"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!"

"We can prove otherwise."

"STEVIE!"

"We have a witness that heard Senator Dolan threaten Ron Whiteman over the phone that day we have Senator Dolan's statement in which he admits getting into a violent argument with Whiteman that night, and we have the comic strip, the one Senator Dolan stole in hopes of keeping his affair with Shelley Harper a secret."

"Yeah, because he gave it to you."

"He just wanted to make himself look innocent..." Stevie smirks.
